Our support is so much better at away games, the atmosphere at Valley Parade can be pretty poor even when we are winning. 17,000 and at times i can hear the players more than i can hear the fans.

 

We often hear opponents criticise our home support. If the players can play with a bit more tempo and purpose I don’t think the crowd would be as restless. Away you expect fewer chances, but at home in recent games we’ve created very little.

 

I think he got a call from his defender right behind him to leave it….They both left it!

 

Valley Parade is regularly like a library though, even when the football isn't as poor as Saturday. We had over 18,000 against Stockport, we had the big banner making an appearance yet 10 minutes before kick off it was flat as a fart. Maybe its just a English thing cos when i go abroad its nothing like that. I'm not expecting atmospheres like we had against Sheffield Utd and Bolton a few years ago but it would be nice to actually experience an atmosphere. We should encourage the players, not wait for them to encourage us.

 

That still doesn't justify the vast majority of the 17,000 turning up at 5 minutes to 3 o'clock, whinge that the turnstiles are too slow then contribute nothing to an atmosphere other than to sit on their hands for 90 minutes. I'd say to fans get their early and make your voices known.

 

I totally agree . I am usually in the ground by 2.30 and usually amazed how few are in their seats 5 mins before kick off.
Maybe the club need to look at the pre-match entertainment to get the fans in the seats earlier. The fan zone behind the kop , is a damp squib

 

It’s treading a very fine line. In the goal is off the field.

Unless you immediately return i.e. run in trying to score and come back out straight away, then really the ref should be penalising the player when they go off, stay off then come back on and do that. Technically it’s a yellow card.

All that said, keeper really has to be more aware. If he looks behind him, there’s no issue.

 

Blumming heck Park, you're normally the virtue of positivity. I know Saturday was bad but you missed the best performance of the season the game after.

 

But…. For me the key moment in the first goal is that Smallwood and Banks were alive to the ball which was very important.

Smallwood pounced on the loose ball when the two Sutton players were indecisive, and Banks anticipated it and made the run which led to Eisa being fed.

Those two were as key in the goal as Eisa and Cook were in poking it home.

Doing it at the office as under 12s are free at Sutton, there isn't an option on the online ticketing website except for a disabled helper.
I just want it clear what ticket i'm purchasing so its no issue getting them in person today.
As for following didn't we take around 400-500 last season for a match that had little meaning on our season??
I think we could take 700-800.
Away end now has capacity for just over 1k.

hotel booked tickets bought. Sutton not a bad place to eat and drink before the game, think it’s 1 stop from the ground. Station is very near by, about 1/2 mile walk to the away end
