In terms of performances against us, I thought Luton were head and shoulders above Sunderland in pretty much every department.

Are they doing a price deal or is that at full price?

I really think we can get something out of this game.We have done quite well there over the years and their home record has not been the best.

We need to play with no fear and our recent upturn in form will help confidence. If their fans get on their backs we can take advantage.
    Come on Citeeeeeee!!!!

We have good recent experience of playing in front of crowds of circa 40k and above. Shoild count in our favour

Does anyone remember the great escape season of 86/87 when we beat Sunderland twice in eight days to virtually send them down to the third tier for the first time in their history. We won both games 3-2 and think Johnny Hendrie and Ron Futcher did the damage to them.
I missed the home game on easter Monday but went to Roker Park for the Tuesday night game, remember us all at the final whistle celebrating like mad as we were just about safe from the drop ourselves and doing it at such a famous old ground made it feel even more special! !

Can't help but feel if this wasn't on boxing day we would be taking even more up. Family committments stop me from going up unfortunately, otherwise me and five others would be up there. Family committments won't stop me from listening though!

I actually keep forgetting that( old age). Maybe he means we played well and got the result we needed.

Not exactly recent are they? The league cup run was six years ago now, and there isn't even anyone from the playing side left from any of the games mentioned!

    They are full price aye.

They are doing a ticketing offer to help out the homeless but fans still buy them at full price and donate them.

Alright lads , Sunderland fan here ,
Just seen you have nearly sold 2000 tickets for Boxing Day , fair play that will be the biggest away following this season at the SOL

Ticket sales are currently at 39,000 with just under a week to go so will be looking at around 41/42,000 come kick off , so should be a decent atmosphere.

There was no deal on the tickets , all tickets are full price but you can buy extra tickets at full price and donate them to the Sunderland AFC charity ( foundation of light) and they will pass the ticket on to underprivileged families in the area that maybe can not afford to go at this time of year , good idea as nearly 1300 extra tickets have been bought through this #givethegiftoffootball

Hopefully after Boxing Day you can string a few results together to get you lot out that relegation zone. All the best
