Possibly, yet money talks. Not deemed good enough for a L1 relegation scrap by MKD, he might not be in their plans for this season either, depending on who they bring in. He might fancy moving to one of the L2 big guns (do we qualify anymore?!) Yet cash will have to be spent. We won't achieve anything with a team full of freebies as we no longer have Parky.

 

I dont mind people being annoyed, the club have put effort into the deal. It's just this calling his character into question, any player does what is right for them, they would be foolish not to. as Williams said it was a tough decision and he lost sleep over it.

 

Never report until they have signed because it just alerts other clubs who could hijack the deal.

 

We have very recent experience of having good players at the club who didn’t want to be here and their performances on the pitch show. Eoin Doyle and James Vaughan being prime examples. There’s a good team bond at the moment. What message would that send to the rest of the group if the highest paid squad member wasn’t in it for the right reasons?

 

Just read his interview to Gillingham. Reasons he was from Kent wants to be part of the project and believes that Gillingham can gain promotion. So there we have it.

 

I understand there will be two incoming transfers announced on Friday, one from a Premiership club, not sure if they are signings or loans.

As @Rogered Tart has stated Williams has done what is right for himself which he should do, before the Gillingham offer her obviously considered us his best option. I have no reason to question his professionalism and commitment had he come here nor should anyone else. It doesn’t mean it would have worked out of course, there are no certainties, but just because he chose a better option for himself doesn’t mean it wouldn’t have been a good signing. Anyway we move on, hopefully to better but it’ll be difficult let’s not kid ourselves.
