Doncaster have made some very astute signings and I’ve just seen McGoldrick has signed for Notts County. With Langstaff that’s some strike force.

 

Bit difficult to put too much on him when he was out injured most of the season. He was perhaps brought back too soon and too quickly though.

 

Don't we have any of these "wants to leave league xxx to come to the club he supported as a kid" types???

Once he was back he often look completely knackered and needed subbing but he was to important and especially after Chapmans injury we had no other real options

 

Lots of Sheff Utd fans saying they have heard Sharp has agreed a deal at City and has turned down Donny.

Speculation aside - Wonder if McCall was sounded out on this move or influenced Billys decision.

Alot of smoke on this one. Very little from our end, seems to be the Blades end pushing this narrative.

I would be torn if we did end up signing him.

He's been a quality striker over the years, but at 37 years of age, I would worry that it would be a season too far for him to be effective, even at this level.

 

I hate signing other teams legends, very rarely works out and we generally are that final cash boost for a player to retire on. Class player but would he give us the same energy as he has done for his previous teams? Especially with the grief 2 fans gave him over his son, parky strangling him and the you fat bastard chants we've sung at him? Has John Mcginlay written all over this

 

Physically he is on the spiral but he is a very intelligent striker. 1 step ahead of L2 defenders so I think its definately worth a shot. He wouldnt be my first choice but its definately a signing to get excited about.

 

I agree. I think the sort of money it would take to get him could be better spent elsewhere.

 

Thats why Clarke disappeared. Was on £2k a week with Sven watching him, Chelsea scouting him.....he asked to be paid his worth and was told no.

We were awfully mismanaged in the PL.

 

Weve been crying out for 'goals elsewhere' to take the load off Cook. Billy even at 37 shouldnt have a problem returning those at L2 level.

So im not sure it is better spent elsewhere!
