I agree. There is no itk experts. I think fans will just put up those that they fancy and hope or pray is some cases they come off. Nothing wrong with that tbh, just let’s wait and see what our squad looks like and then what system does it accommodate and we can speculate on the team. Plenty of closed season activities to keep us going.

Agree. Keeping a tight ship in terms of speculation is a sign of a well run club. I'm much more concerned with the business we actually do. To me, what we needed in January was clear and we didn't resolve what we need. It's clear again, and we can't afford to get it wrong again.

 

Apparently we tried for Wyke on loan in January. Wigan uturned at the last minute.

Wyke was in the crowd cheering on his bestie Gillie, think it was Rochdale or Salford, cant remember but it was around the time of the rumour.

 

That said, Smallwood, Osadebe, Odusina and 1 other were leaked about 3 weeks before they were announced last summer.

 

Providing he passes a thorough medical and is past fit there is no reason why he couldn’t sign obviously on much lower terms than he is on at the minute. However I can’t see him playing with Cook.

Passing a medical is one thing, the big issue could be insurance cover, irrespective of passing an immediate medical?
I’d be astonished if he rolled up at VP.

Don't remember Osadebe being leaked. Smallwood and Odusina I remember. But Lewis, Halliday, Platt Crichlow, Clayton, East, Oliver, Young, even Walker signing permanently, none of those were really leaked.

 

Unfortunately it’s very unlikely the former two will be coming. Or Wyke for that matter I think Chrichlow will sign and maybe one more then it will be three or four loans let’s hope we attract some good ones this time

Wright, Banks and Critchlow were decent loans last year. Rest were shite tbh.

 

As you say I can't remember Hughes starting with the Cook/Oliver partnership up top.

How dare you mention Sharp you'll be upsetting some of the natives with that comment,

 

We need the equivalent of Wright and Banks for the attacking midfield roles and as I said in an earlier post somebody like Jonny Williams to rotate with Walker so we don’t put to much on him like we did last season
