    I think that was what most fans were expecting Hughes to do improve on the positions he thought we were weak and go again with regards the way we played last season that got us so near.

    Normally you're a sensible poster Jon and I'm sorry but this is just nonsense.

    Perhaps you're just on a bit of a wind up and I'm daft for biting but I think you're absolutely miles off if you're even attempting to defend that transfer window, regardless of the little caveats you're trying to insert.

    It's not as bad as some are pretending.

    Good? Nah. Horrendous? Also nah.

    Thats true - they did, but surely better squad planning was required. They were both squad fillers and nothing more.

    With Oliver out for 3 or so months surely a big lump of a striker was better placed than Afoka. Tulloch made little sense either when we had just signed Wilson.

    We now have/had Walker, Pointon, Oduor, Chapman, Tulloch, Wilson, Osadebe, Afoka fighting for 2 spots. And now maybe even 1 spot if its Cook and Smith as a pairing up top.

    Im in agreement, I dont think it was horrendous. Right formation, right approach and the right man in charge this squad is good enough to do better. Its only League Two.

    We've signed 11 players and when everyone is fit I'd suggest that only Pattison is nailed on in our best 11.

    One player out of 11 signings. ONE!

    We've also gone from a play off finish to the 6th worst team in the entire football league with a goal difference to match.

    Not horrendous you say? I'd definitely beg to differ.

    He's actually the only one I'd keep at a push. Only as back up but he could fill in Hallidays wing back role we seem to have adopted.

    I'm not surprised if he goes elsewhere though once he's fit again. He's got all the physical attributes so Brentford will want to try and develop his technical ones in the hope he'll kick on.

    I imagine this means that, if Alexander sticks with the 3-5-2 formation, we’ll see Gilliead used as cover for left or right wing back if Richards or Halliday get injured; particularly once Pattison is back in midfield.

    From the sounds of it, he won't be loaned out again this season unless it's to non-league as his surgery and recovery will take a few months, certainly won't be ready by the end of the Jan window unless he is a rehab monster. NL window doesn't close until late March if they wanted him out again, probably just keep him around their B team.

    Who do we think is leaving this month then? Need outs before ins. If Young gets recalled as expected, that caps out our O21 limit.

    Thinking Derbyshire, Osadebe and Tulloch leave to free over aged space as well as the rest of the loans. With us moving to 3 CBs, I can't see Taylor leaving unfortunately, unless we recall Odusina? I've live a few doors from Walker, seems like he is moving this week with loads of removal boxes by his windows and the house looking emptier every day. Apparently he's got a flat near the training ground and isn't leaving I saw on Twitter, but you never know?

    Its time for another update...

    Smith = 7
    Walker = 5

    Pattison = 3
    Gilliead = 3
    Odour = 2
    Tulloch = 1

    Because I doubt many would disagree (me included) that he wouldn't score 30 goals again.

    Looks like Rochdale takeover is coming close, a company called JNG Capital Group Limited listing their registered address as the Crown Oil arena and the directors listed all seem to be working with Guy Branston according to their Linkedin, with Branston spotted at Rochdales games the past month or so.

    Wouldn't be surprised to see them make Easts move permanent in Jan. He seems to be thriving in NL and is probably better off there than being 4th choice CM here and maybe not even making the bench. Fairly certain his contract is up in the summer too, so probably a cheaper one to make happen. Hopefully we can convince new owners that the Derbyshires or Osadebes of the squad are really great options too.....
