Slower than our midfield? I can’t believe that. Even at walking pace he’d be quicker than McD and Smallwood.

I agree. I really liked East. Yes he had to go for his career sake. However, in my view he could have played a lot more than he did.

Not given a real chance. Too attacking for Parky. Went to Scunny and scored 20 goals in his first season - from the left wing.

Another one in the long line of City players who were seemingly shite for us but went on to have a great season at their next club :(

Didn't work hard enough for Parky. We didn't get off to the best of starts that season. Parky bought Reidy back and we never looked back.

Reidy's first game back was Rochdale away -

Fans get obsessed with players that leave and do well.

The bottom line is you can't just sign 11 players and play them for 46 x 90 minutes. You need a squad and you need back up.

Being a back up player doesn't mean you're a bad player, and being a good player doesn't make you first choice. If you have more than 1 good player in a position, someone's going to be disappointed.

And yet... that's stating the obvious, we all know this, every single one of us - yet it's still used as an excuse to bash managers.

Another free agent to cross off the list. Notts County signed Dan Gosling. I wouldn’t have thought he’d be match fit for the game against us, but you never know. Good experienced midfielder.

Reading up on him, he was playing regularly for Watford last season until he got an injury last November and not played since.

Could be a very good signing if he can back to full match fitness.

He did indeed. Wicked free kick specialist wasn’t he whilst there?

Never really repeated it though Serg and we had Reid on the left so I don't feel like we missed out much, if at all.

Agree he needed game time but should have got it with City and should not have been loaned out, Always played well when picked and never let us down with both pace and energy, Was a better player than some we kept and borrowed and was another MH mistake IMO

Should and would are two different things. I agree I like him but I try to be realistic.

Danny Rowe coming home to see to unfinished business? Just been released by Macclesfield.

Joking aside….He could hit a ball!

What was there to like though? All I saw was one standout performance (Salford) in 12 months and 6 yard passes. He epitomises the words 'bang average' and he offered very little on match day. These type of players are nowhere near good enough to get us promoted. He has found his level at NL.

You can tell he's barely played was all I can think when I saw him. He had the experience of players 4 or 5 years younger than him at this level, and it was obvious to see. Any pressure, it was just get it 10 yards away. Reminded me of Danny Devine, spent most of his time sat around the centre circle with little movement, little tackling, simple passing but the game wasn't developing. Don't remember East doing anything bad, but I barely remember East offering anything.

Never know, if he had a full season to find his craft he might be a useful ball player. But we never played with a ball player in midfield and at 25, you can't be carrying a player like that in the hope it clicks, especially if you want promotion. If he was like 20/21 yes, let him develop, but not at this stage.

There was a discussion the other day around Swindon/Young recall/Swindon finances and the owner has done an interview with Forbes AUS discussing everything. Sounds like he has taken some offence at the Swindon paper that reported the payment issues that apparently weren't true. Link here for anyone who wants to read it -> https://www.forbes.com.au/life/uncategorized/swindon-town-fc-is-not-for-sale-says-aussie-plumber/#:~:text=We%20got%20rid%20of%20the,would%20be%20put%20in%20liquidation

Sounds like he wants to meet the people who printed the story.....

Another of those who, the less he played the better he got. He's at his level.

Reading the story i'm warming to the guy already. I think Sparks would benefit from having someone who is hands like Morfuni is, would take the pressure off and pair with someone with a real passion for it to succeed.
