Who? Stubbs or Tomkinson? (Given Tomkinson is injured that wouldn't surprise me).

Stubbs. If true, not unsurprising, given his history.

I think we're supposed to but once he's had it given straight back to him for the 14th time he probably thinks he has no other option.

    Best of the 3.
Kelly not as cultured but a battler and strong.
Platt in a 3 doesn't work for me.

Oh don’t get me going on that… It was more a comment about Stubbs attempts to dribble….Aargh.

Platts long balls and Lewis’s floaty “ chipped” balls out to the wide players were equally bad. Too easy to intercept even when they are within the white lines!

I don’t think anyone is suggesting otherwise Park. The discussion has been around his ball playing skills across and in front of the opposition. He made me shudder several times on Saturday.

Nothingness post really but the L2 window numbers are now in. Most teams are within 1 or 2 players of matching their same squad size as the end of last season with a similar number of ins and outs. Some teams like Barrow and Grimsby look to have gone quantity over quality. Morecambe have brought a lot in compared to their outs, but they did release a lot of players last season too.

Wrexham with the lowest amount of new signings at 6, City ranked joint 10th in terms of lowest numbers brought in with Morecambe and Crawley bringing in 15 each. Lowest numbers out the door was Barrow with just 5 leaving, the 11 City had leave ranked us ranked 13th in lowest numbers to leave, with Crawleys 18 being the most players to leave the club.

AFC Wimbledon: 12 in 9 out
    Accrington: 7 in 12 out
    Barrow: 12 in 5 out
    Bradford: 10 in 11 out
    Colchester: 11 in 13 out
    Crawley: 15 in 18 out
    Crewe: 7 in 13 out
    Doncaster: 13 in 10 out
Forest Green: 16 in 15 out
    Gillingham: 8 in 9 out
    Grimsby: 12 in 7 out
    Harrogate: 8 in 7 out
    Mansfield: 8 in 6 out
MK Dons: 10 in 16 out
    Morecambe: 15 in 8 out
    Newport: 11 in 7 out
Notts Co: 7 in 6 out
    Salford: 8 in 9 out
    Stockport: 12 in 15 out
    Sutton: 13 in 14 out
    Swindon: 9 in 15 out
    Tranmere: 10 in 8 out
    Walsall: 12 in 13 out
    Wrexham: 6 in 12 out

So ranked against the league, we ended up about middle in terms of numbers in and out. Complaints last year about a bloated squad but we only ended up with 1 more out than in, but ours ins don't include youth promotions so technically the squad is bigger at the minute than the one we finished last season with.

If it's including loans in then surely you need to include loans ended from last season?

Crichlow, Banks, Nevers, Costelleo, Dion - loan ended = 5
Threlkeld, Clayton, Eisa, Foulds, Songo'o, Scales, Wood - gone = 7
    Cousin-Dawson - East - Young - loaned out = 3

That is 15 that have departed City in one way or another from last season.

Probably. It's all data gathered by the T&A.

    Today's T&A article was a bit concerning.

Hughes saying "players need to step up and score" he then reckons we have the personnel and names and talks up a few but totally misses Wilson, a player who scored 7 in 19 games last season (ok, we can question the quality but at least he's got a record). Maybe just me but it looks like he's going to be the next East or Odusina and drift off into oblivion!

It's been well documented without Cook sticking the ball in the opposition net and Lewis keeping them out of ours we would maybe have been top half, anyone who thought Andy Cook would continue in that scoring vein needs to give their heads a shake.
Even Harry had a dodgy start to the season, understandable with what was circulating at the time not merely in the press but Hughes actually took him on one side and told him there was a bid in for him from Barnsley but it didn't match our clubs valuation.
A new way of playing is not going to happen overnight and I do believe the more we play the system the more comfortable the players will be playing it, time will tell, but if it doesn't look like we can turn it around to play the way Huges wants we have the majority of players still at the club to go back to a system that we know delivers, and I believe it could deliver even better results if Hughes gave them a little more freedom with regards their individual skills.

I read something late Friday night / early Saturday, that Tomkinson’s loan move to Bradford was subject to an appeal. Apparently, talks were progressing well at 8.30 BST and the deal was expected to go through. However, some issue prevented it going through and it was eventually confirmed the paperwork had gone through after the 11pm close.

Bradford, Bristol Rovers & Wrexham launched appeals over the rejected transfers for Tomkinson, Clarke-Harris & Armstrong respectively. Wrexham’s has already been rejected, but there is no news on the other 2 appeals.

How can Bristol Rovers afford Clarke-Harris Posh's leading scorer with 26 goal last season, MacAnthony isn't renowned for letting players go on the cheap.

All the players at Posh go on the transfer list when they've got 12 months left on their contracts as far as i know.

Everyone in their final 12 months has a price at Posh. It sounds like JCH isn't fancying a new contract either and the club are discussing sitting him until he either comes around to wanting to play again or leaving him out until Jan.

MacAnthony is releasing his next podcast on Thursday and sounds like he'll be letting everyone know the plans publicly. Some fans are kicking off online too about the club and how it's being run so think he's addressing a few things.

I am surprised nobody bigger has come in for him but with 10 months left on his deal I cannot imagine they will be breaking the bank.

All that came out is that it was a 7 figure bid that was accepted. Paying over a million for a guy with 10 months on his deal in L1 is a stretch, but if fit he will bag 20+ goals so it's a weighed gamble if they can afford it.

The fanbase are getting annoyed with the plans from the ownership and I think deadline day made it worse. When they were relegated to L1, they froze ST prices for the season after at over £500 for the ticket, it think it was about £520. It was sold by the club as them not raising prices to cover costs of relegation or cost of living, doing the fans a favour.... fans saw it as paying Championship prices for L1 football. Then this summer some names have left the club, but there's been rumours for about 6 months that the club are in financial troubles too which is never confirmed or outright denied. MacAnthony rather than denying the financial issues usually goes on a rant about how much the club spent on upgrading the youth academy and how much it costs to bring in and keep prospects at the club then kind of diverts his answers. He was on SSN on deadline day and did the exact same usual speech.

Froze prices again this summer and with the big names gone and then JCH, the captain looking like he's not going to play again, a fan said something like "we're basically paying over £500 to watch a glorified youth team", which is an overreaction as they are good youth players but I see his point.
