What he didn't say was the usual "Irons in the fire", "option 1, 2, 3" etc

Suggests he's happy with what he's got. If those he wants do join then that's OK but if not then that's OK as well.

Lewis did exceptionally well last season and rightfully got praise for it, but I think he has to hold his hand up for the Crawley goal he set the wall up even Hughes commented on it in his post match interview, home to Colchester was a complete mess, and ultimately only had himself to blame he had chance to get rid, and Stockport's goal was questionable.

 

I'd love you to be right about Rak-Sakyi but just can't see Palace wanting him to drop into league two when he had a very rewarding spell at Charlton 42 games and 15 goals that's some return for a 20 year old in mens football obviously a very talented kid.

Wasn't suggesting Rak-Sakyi would be dropping this far down. Gordon looks set to very on his way out on loan though, just a lottery to who as there were 6 or 7 linked clubs from memory.

 

Dont criticse Harry. He said up the f***ing chickens once so gets an annual pass.

Just my opinion @Sergio Pinto III no matter who the player is, as I say Lewis and Cook were the back bone of our promotion challenge last season and both got plenty of praise, to be fair to both Harry and Andy have had poor starts to the season by their standards.
Andy has had very good chances for a striker of his calibre and IMO should have put possibly 5 away, you have to wonder if all that transfer talk about Barnsley making offers has been on Harrys mind, hopefully both will do a good job at Morecambe on Saturday and we bring all three points home.

 

Sorry guys its an age thing, reading the transfer thread about players who could be loaned out and automatically thinking they could be Bradford City targets because were massive .

Very weird window this one, tried getting business done early which is usually a good thing to build your team early, but we haven't signed anyone in 6 or 7 weeks at this point and left at least 2 holes in the squad.

 

Yep. The keeper and the star striker have been 2 of the worst this season and have cost us points - but for some reason its Hughes tactics and club recruitment to blame.

 

Who'd be a manager eh? No way can Hughes predict his two best players by some distance last season haven't hit any sort of form yet. Could easily be sat on at least 7 points despite the slow start to the season and fans would be on about 'pissing league 2' etc. Lewis getting beat from 30 odd yards out and gifting a goal in possession, Cooky not scoring on Tuesday night, a game of fine margins that dictates how fans react or over react as we have seen so far.
Lewis and Cook will hit form there's no doubt about that.

 

It's a very different window to last seasons that's for sure, but that's because we have a very strong squad already in place this season. It didn't require an overhaul, just needed tweaking. The majority of those 'tweaks' were done very early and we have been made aware for weeks that any additions are most likely to be loans - and not likely to happen until late in the window. Fingers crossed our patience pays off soon!

 

Hughes is definitely dampening down expectations though, if you listen to his presser.

There was nothing like "there's a few Irons in the fire" or "we've got a few conversations going on" or "we're exploring some options".

It was just "we'll never close if the window is still open, we'll see what comes up"

It was the passive-ness of his comments that surprised me.
