I doubt the kid is on big bucks given his experience. He could simply be a squad filler. I assumed it would be Odusina leaving, he still might, or maybe Hughes sees him as part of a 3 man centre back partnership. This is where he played at Hartlepool - and was very good by all accounts.

Who knows, Odusina could still go and there could be another CB coming in.

If todays rumours are true it would be two in two out with Foulds a right sided forward hopefully to follow won’t be far out

He only spent a month at Borehamwood to be fair.

Was back at Sheff Utd in January according to this https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/sheffield-united-transfer-january-window-26002032

I told you all this - you didnt account for players leaving. I said 14 were going/gone but you still said '2 permanent and 3 or 4 loans'

We are on 5 permanent now. I would expect another 4 or 5 incoming.

But that's what concerns me. We are potentially getting rid of an experienced player and replacing them with a squad filler when pretty much without exception, we all agree that we needed to strengthen this window and bring in quality where we were lacking. I do feel a bit negative about this because it feels like we will end up weaker for it, but obviously, I hope I end up being very wrong about that.

I am not worried at all TBH. All depends on what is expected of this lad and what his squad role will be. The boy Kelly came from Ireland - appalling standard but clearly wasn't brought in to boost our promotion campaign. He might be ok, he might be shite. Always going to be these types of signings.

It’s all down to scouting isn’t it they are paid to find players like this. He has played 10 times for Sheffield United. Lots of these sort of players fall by the wayside but some come off.

On the surface of it, losing Platt seems to weaken our squad.

But if Taylor has been brought in to be first choice with Stubbs, then maybe the club see it as good business selling Platt (now a squad player) and freeing up his wages.

Gordon, Odusina and Kelly might be deemed more than capable as backup.

If this money is reinvested into the squad on quality in another area, then it might be worth it. Let's judge at the end of the window.

Spot on Park. We have no idea how our current recruitment will all fit together. Let’s see what the end result looks like. I would have liked to keep Platt for backup but he probably didn’t want that and decided to move.

Everyone seems to have taken for granted this is happening. It’s all rumours at the moment

He has literally only posted 4 things - The 2 he's got right and then the two today about Platt and Gordon.

    I'm confused?

You're suggesting we conceded due to Halliday not being good enough/tall enough/quick enough but Foulds some how fixed that problem?
