If true madness… honestly think we have carried on since January’s with poor recruitment decisions. What happens when Stubbs almost certainly gets injured and misses large amounts of games platt is a good player and to a rival… madness we also Still haven’t began to look at the forward positions which we are desperately in need of updating- we can’t go into this season with Cook alone.

Platt , Stubbs,kelly, Taylor, Odisina and possibly Gordon, 6 centre halves?

 

Plenty of time to bring in a forward it will be a week or two before loans arrive

 

I know, Parker regurgitated it as the Sun is purchased by few nowadays because we can buy Andrex instead.

 

Replacing Platt, a solid League 2 CB with a complete unknown entity is madness.

 

Key word ….”SELLING”.If what we get is better then I’m not fussed. Remember Platty only really played half a season . Stubbs is far and away the better player.

 

Not according to some on here, who think he's rubbish. I bet they are the very same people who think Stockport have more of a chance of promotion than we do because they have better players.

 

Eh? He played in 41 games and whilst I don't disagree that Stubbs is a better player, I think Stubbs and Platt were a more solid partnership than Stubbs and Crichlow.

 

Platt is a solid defender for league 2 but doesn’t have that speed of thought to move the ball quickly. He was instrumental (along with Crichlow) in slowing the game down to a walk. Add to that his lack of pace and it’s easy to see why his opportunities will be limited. Would I keep him as a squad player, yes. Would he want to sit on the bench, probably not.

 

You the new club scout ? Why is it madness when Platt went out of favour when Stubbs arrived hardly to play again. Did you say that when “always injured” Stubbs didn’t miss a game?

Platt played 11 last season , then Stubbs arrived who then played 14. “ Stubbs almost certainly gets injured”

Don’t agree, if Platt had the same speed of reaction as Crichlow then I’d agree. But he doesn’t.

He didn’t play 41 games last season . No idea where that comes from.

 

I agree Platt doesn’t really fit in to the way Hughes likes to play. But he is a very solid defender at this level and I wouldn’t be ditching him. We do have a lack of pace at the back so let’s hope Gordon if he signs is a bit quick

 

You need to look at the facts rather than what you think you remember. Stubbs and Platt formed a very good partnership together, so much so that Crichlow could only get back in when Platt got his red card. Prior to Stubbs arrival, Platt was an ever present so yes, whether you remember it or not, he played in the majority of games last season, albeit the last few were from the bench.

 

You start every post back to me with ridiculous comments - if I criticise the owner do I want to put money in? If I criticise the recruitment policy I want to be a scout. Football is a game of opinions I happen to think yours is wrong and I assume you think mine is.
Your blind loyalty with no real objection to anything that the club does is your stand… Great. Hope it serves you well, I’d rather keep the club honest because I really don’t believe what they are doing is going to bring success. It’s my right as supporter to vent how I feel, as it’s yours.

I would have kept Platt myself but as a squaddie only. Perhaps that’s what he’s been told and wants to move? Who knows I’m only speculating?

 

Not overly bothered about Platt. Standard L2 CB, nothing special but is nowhere near terrible. He's peaked.

Kyron Gordon is an interesting one, not a great deal on him but he is supposedly a confident on the ball defender, so think we've found Critchlows replacement. Sheff left him train with Man United in 2021 it seems, with United apparently interested in bringing him in when he was a teenager but nothing came of it.

 

But your criticism wasn’t really valid was it.firstly the Platt transfer is just speculation so far and your comment on needing a forward is at best premature because we are only just at the start of the transfer window
