What's most worrying to me is that if we lose Cook and Cooke, we look screwed - again.

I'm not keen on this tiny squad philosophy, unless we're augmenting with additional loan players of legit quality.

I know we'll sign more players, but strength in depth is looking really shallow.

 

Yeah I would definitely prefer Hornby over OD, I was just showing how much experience we have. Also currently have Crankshaw over Vernham from what I saw last year.

 

As much as I like Cooke and Cook. If we are counting on them two are are major difference for the first 11 then yes we are screwed.

We need better quality in depth.

 

With Adams' philosophy I can't see him surrounding himself with anyone who doesn't meet his ideals on delivering.That entails every squad member buying into it with vigour and intensity.

 

I wonder how we got on with the supposed second improved bid for a contracted striker?. All gone quiet on that front.

Absolutely. I think the odd one or two may get a rude awakening? Can you imagine Rowe in the squad? However I can’t in all honesty blame the players. It’s how they have been coached, trained and being given a game plan and tactics.
If that’s lacking then obviously the players are going to look poor.

 

Well let's have a look at the striker situation last season; at one point we had Cook, Donaldson, Novak, and Rowe - and yet we still fielded Vernam as a sole striker against Exeter City.

That's 4 players out in just one position; I reiterate, we will need more strength in depth than that.

 

I agree in a perfect world but unfortunately we don’t we have a budget to live to. Also carrying people who hardly get a game can cause problems in a Squad.

 

I am pulling this out of thin air, but bowman did move to shrewsbury so I think either he prefered there or shrewsbury put in a bigger bid.

 

Not necessarily a budget issue, more about squad sizes being reduced.
