So the manager who left the club in June 2016 should be given credit for getting us to Wembley in May 2017, no credit whats ever for McCall also recording no home defeats that season, this post belongs in the joke thread Mclowne, have you a relative called Norman Corner by any chance.

Going undefeated at home, and the overall excellent defensive record of that season, are certainly things to remember and yes, give Stuart a lot of credit for.

Overall this is another case of a star player not reaching the same heights as manager. From another sport, a clear parallel is Wayne Gretzky -- in the running as greatest player ever, but only middling, adequate, as coach. I suppose, as has been mentioned here recently, Alan Dowson would be an example in the other direction -- more successful as a manager than player.
