    To all the doom mongers

    Great battling point

    County remain 3 points behind
One save by Lewis with his head
Anything else from County other than a bit of pressure at the beginning of the second half….??

Great point away from a challenger imho!

    8 mins for cook

Serious questions need to be asked, and not taking the nonsense answer he doesn't want him getting his head down by going games without goals

Hes not scoring if he's sat on the bench

That’s five successive away games in league and Salford in the cup with no goals scored. Leaving out Cook working well.

Expected to lose so happy with the result, but the performance and game overall were dreadful.

I’m happy to criticise refs on here which isn’t the cool thing to do, so feel I need to praise when one is good. Best of the season for me by far. One who was actually consistent for 90 minutes unlike most.

Derbyshire and Cook actually looked like a forward partnership and we started retaining the ball higher up the pitch.

Funnily enough, that's exactly the reason people asked for Oliver but unfortunately he offers a lot less than Cook in even holding up the ball. It's also debatable whether he's any better in the air.

Magnificent, Mark Hughes masterclass, Premier League standard from a Premier League manager.

Was watching the highlights of the Villa league cup semi the other day, almost ten years to the day, if anyone had said to me that we'd ever top that experience I wouldn't have believed them. Until tonight.

It's because "the truth" has no context and isn't grounded in any way.

Fans have to take into account where we are, the standard needed in this division and who we are playing.

Instead, we've just keep two clean sheets away against the two on form teams - yet you'd think we'd drawn at home to the bottom two.

I'm not someone who uses past matches to judge the current one. Too many on these boards come into these matches with a negative mindset and then spend the next 90 minutes proving they were correct.

It's laughable as some of those criticising this very good point - were busy saying we'd get stuffed before the match started.

I couldn't give a shiny shite what else he brings, he provides goals and that's what we lack. Show me another team in this division who would leave a 26 goal striker on the bench. Cos I'm saying it wouldn't hapoen.

Yes, I'm aghast at this explanation. It's utterly bizarre. The penalty awarded to Rochdale against Chapman was for exactly this scenario.
Players at every level of football, from International and PL, down to the Dog & Duck, do this all the time. Harry Kane has made an art form out of winning free kicks by slowing down in order to get pushed in the back.
There's nothing in the laws of football that says you have to continue forward at the same speed if you have the ball. If you decide to suddenly stop running then it's for the player behind you to either stop or step to the side to avoid running into the back of you.
    I'm gobsmacked by this.

This is one of those games where I would gladly take a draw before kick off. I already stated I think Stockport will get promoted and are the form team at the moment after Stevenage. Any points from this game are stopping a direct rival gaining ground on us.

The referee was Terry Bosi, who lived not too far from me and who gave me a lift to/from that match and the rearranged game. I, therefore, got a first hand account of his decision making process in abandoning that match.

I fear we will get really turned over tomorrow night by a team I think will get that 3rd auto spot at the end of season.

I would gladly take a boring 0-0 draw now.

I don't disagree with any of this. I was only thinking the other day why can't we be this years Plymouth or Stevenage or Burnley or Leyton Orient? And to some extent it annoys me knowing that yet again in the bottom division we still can't seem to dominate a season to an extent where it feels like we should be in the top two. But then as Bradford fan i've kinda come to expect that, apart from the crazy Richmond years, this city is destined to have a football club that mirrors the city itself. And that being a club with no real ambition.

There's a split between history in general, and our own little part of it, and that skews our perceptions. There may still be a centenarian around who remembers our Div. 2 days in the 1920s, maybe even one who was born when we were still in Div. 1 then, but overall we who are alive today have been living in a time of a 3rd- and 4th-tier club.

History of the club: Matches played in the divisions, as of today (total 4755):

    Div. 1: 468 (9.8%)
    Div. 2: 1224 (25.7%)
    Div. 3N: 704 (14.8%) \ 3rd tier together 1854 (39%)
    Div. 3: 1150 (24.2%) /
    Div. 4: 1209 (25.4%)

But it's a different picture if we switch to a personal history. Mine, in this case -- I was born right after the 62/3 season ended, so I'll begin with season 63/4:

Matches played starting with 63/4 season, as of today (total 2704):

    Div.1: 76 (2.8%)
    Div. 2: 496 (18.3%)
    Div. 3: 1012 (37.4%)
    Div. 4: 1120 (41.4%)

    Sarcevic injured.

One piece of good news. He always plays well against us.

I mean he’s only played 12 games in his career but you can tell. Apart from standing slightly higher up the pitch I fail to see the upgrade. A waste of a loan when we have more pressing issues in other positions.
