That's not the question. The way Rupp is running the club we wouldn't need a super rich buyer. Supposedly the club is sustainable as it is, so literally all we would need is Stefan out the club and replaced.

I have never said we need more and more money, I'm fine with someone coming in and running the club sustainably because there's no reason we can't have success while being sustainable especially at this level, and probably the level above.

The question is, if Rupp is definitely NOT the man to bring us success, which seems pretty clear to me, then is there someone who can put equally little money into the club but actually know what they're doing?

1,000,000 % yes, and I think it's pretty obvious, Park.

We COULD do worse than we are under Rupp; but it would be more likely that we'd do better without him.

Funnily enough, someone posted something very tenuous on twitter today about a local consortium taking over within weeks.

Please explain how appointing a manager with a proven league two promotion record, and giving him the 4th/5th best budget in the league, resulting in abysmal tactics like yesterday and being 11th in league two is the direct result of a man who lives in Germany but happens to own the club ?

We are where we are in the league because and experienced manager, with a good budget, has signed poor players and used poor tactics.

If you gave the forrest green manager, or Mickey Mellon at Tranmere the same resources would we be 11th.

    Course we wouldn't.

The point is with Rupp is he is being constantly let down by football manager’s McCall, Grayson, Hopkin, Bowyer and now Adams. We have a top four or five budget so just achieving to budget would put us in play offs a little overachieving in the automatics. Rhodes/Lawn fortunately for them had Parky Rupp hasn’t been that lucky despite appointing what look like good candidates at the time. I don’t think a change of ownership will make much difference unless they have money they are prepared to lose

If you ignore the bigger picture, sure, Rupp has done nothing wrong.

Except that he's presided over a club that has flip-flopped from one initiative to another, consistently done 180 degree turns in terms of managers and styles, has had absolutely no consistency whatsoever in terms of players and personnel, and has failed to disembark from a brainless merry go round that has affected every single role at the club from CEO (three in six years), managers (ten in six years), and players (longest serving player has been here for a whopping three years).

If I was going to write a blueprint for guaranteed failure, I'd start with that - ensuring there's no vision, no culture, and no consistency from the board room right the way down to the academy.

Every single notable coaching position has changed, our scouting system changes twice a season, our manager changes twice a season, our CEO changes every two seasons, Jesus Christ man, we don't know what we're doing as a club and there is only ONE PERSON to blame for that, General.

Here's how you can guarantee improvement.

    1) Appoint a good candidate on paper, give them a chance.
    2) Appoint a good candidate that naturally makes sense as a successor to that candidate should they fail, give them a chance.
    3) Go back to step 2.
    4) Go back to step 2.
    5) Go back to step 2.

We can't even get that right!

What kind of moron thinks Simon Grayson is a natural successor to Stuart McCall?
What kind of moron thinks Michael Collins is a natural successor to Simon Grayson?
What kind of moron thinks Stuart McCall is a natural successor to Gary Bowyer?
What kind of moron thinks Derek Adams is a natural successor to Stuart McCall or the Academy Superheroes?

    It's not difficult.

Understand football just a TINY BIT and you're likely to do better than Stefan at providing on-field success. Know what you actually want to do, and try to do it. But knowing what you want to do is way above Stefan Rupp's abilities.

So it's a result of what? Pretty sure we said the exact same about Adams before he was appointed and yet here we are looking the exact same as we did last season. We'd appoint either of those two and they'd fail here.

People seem to be hung up on the fact that Rupp isn't handling the team selection and tactics. Yeah, no shit he isn't. But the systems in place at the club that result in the same old dross every season are because of him. I'm not saying Adams is amazing but it's funny how you can repeat the same process each season and think well it hasn't worked the past 10 times we've tried, maybe this time it'll be different. It won't because you have the same disinterested owner overseeing a shit foundation to build a promotion winning squad upon.

Prepared for the January transfer window before signing some rubbish
Crankshaw leaving to fund a free agent who we are still waiting for
    Not accepting mediocrity
    Anything but promotion is failure
    Publishing full accounts
The Turnbull model is the best way forward
The next manager (before he was announced) having input in the retained list,
Contracts for managers not long before sacking them
Never been interested in the lad from Darlington, definitely not
Parting ways with Turnbull but all the signings were Adams’
Mysterious issues behind the scenes that nobody wants to talk about

I’m sure there could be a whole thread on statements or promises that might raise a quizzical eyebrow.

As has been discussed before. What right do any of us have to see the full accounts.

    We are customers not shareholders.

There is also no legal obligation for the full accounts to be published.

All of me wants that to be true. We need local people who get what the club means to us.

Rupp is a proud custodian but not a Bradfordian-THAT'S the difference.

Perhaps the reason we're not actually buying anyone, only loans. Why would Rupp spend money if a potential takeover is on the cards?

As Parker is saying on FB every day-loans are not free. The club is spending money but maybe not as much as they should be?

James Mason at the ground yesterday, noticed he was in the corporate bit. I hope by some shear miracle he was joined by a consortium wanting buy this club.
I’ve heard something is going on too.

Or you just need rich people. I wouldn’t give a toss if our owner came from Neptune as long as they were willing to invest in the club.
