I assume yourself and Park are related somehow??

Read the room mate - you are in a minority. Most of us can see straight through them and nothing will change with a poxy statement

I don't come on much but when I do I am taken aback at how petty and childish most of the posters are.

Most come across like primary school kids stamping their feet and complaining that he, she, they aren't doing enough but never offering a solution or offering to do more themselves.

Rupp has communicated. He has admitted mistakes. He has stated he will rectify those mistakes.

    What more do people want?

Only thing missing in my opinion was that as he was putting his hand into his pocket he was going to seek a similar commitment from supporters and would be raising the ST price to £350. Now that would have had the Year 3 contingent stomping their feet and thrashing around on the floor.

    Would I pay it. Yes.

    Grow up for christs sake.

Every club in Divs 1 & 2 has to declare their playing budget to the EFL as part of the salary cap regime. They do it shortly after the summer transfer window has closed. The EFL in turn then analyse the budgets and group them into different categories - highest, lowest, average, top 3 etc. It's all done anonymously and provided to each club in the division.

In Div 2 for example, there are 3 clubs with £4m+ budgets; the average is £2.3m (I think the EFL uses the mean) and the lowest is £1.7m (I think). According to Sparks in the Athletic article, he said ours was £2.8m and did refer to there being other clubs with budgets of £4m and above. It's at least internally consistent and Sparks' claim that ours is a top 7 budget would fit in with the analysis. The letters are strictly for the clubs themselves. They are not provided to the media according to the EFL.

I understand that one of the first things clubs do when they receive the letter is to ring around other clubs, friendly agents etc and try to put names to the budgets. How successful they are is a matter of opinion. But I've heard of 6 or even 7 candidates for the three clubs in the £4m+ group ... including ourselves! I don't believe that aspect is a very productive process!

It's just meaningless waffle, to put people off from protesting tomorrow and for people to buy season tickets.

With regards this comment "Part of my discussion with Ryan yesterday concerned the football department, Ryan expressed a desire to add to that operation and assist our existing staff to achieve better outcomes".
I would hope after reading that statement the help Ryan needs and is prepared to accept will be the appointment of a DOF then the football dissions made at Valley Parade are made by people who have had many years experience within the game, Ryan's staying as CEO but has NO INPUT with regards football apart from making money available.

So we all bought into that dream 16k of us and whatcdid we get ???
Micheal Collins a backroom staff full of puppets and Josh Wright the poster boy.

He is gonna turn up more well heres news for you Rupp your fooking 6 years to late had you been around during Rahics carnage we probably wouldnt be in this mess

I feel a little more positive than the general feeling being shown on here.

Short of coming out today announcing he or Sparks were leaving, this is the best option.

Is it too late? Probably for a large chunk of the fan base yes.

Am I cynical for all the reasons that have been listed in the above 10/11 pages of thoughts, absolutely.

But it offers some green shoots of hope.

The proof will now be in the pudding. If these promises have been made and don’t get acted on, then I think the club is going to go only one way, and very very quickly.

We’ve probably lost a large chunk of our fan base already, but you can be sure if this just proves to be lies and bluster then the bulk of those remaining will go the same way

Likewise Dave I've seen folk in this thread still trying and blame the fans because they don't tow the club line.

    Also:

"I hope the players can begin to wash away some of the feelings that have built up over the past few weeks"

Stefan seems to think these feelings built up very recently :D

He's not alone it will be for various reasons my last match as a season ticket holder may not even bother to stay and watch the game either just pay my respects as I always have done irrespective of the state of the club
Frankly watching the players doing the lap of failure sorry honour would be too much
You've hit the nail on the head with Ryan appointing a DOF I hope he has more luck than he has had with his managerial selections i have no confidence yet Rupp seems to turn a blind eye to his failings
Would never criticise your choice in renewing it's all about opinions after all

Not enjoying it Broncs but people renewing their STs endorses what a ‘good’ job Ryan and Rupp are doing. If the only way to drive Sparks out, which is what the club needs to progress, i’ll not renew our STs. Will still see every match on ifollow and I won’t have the hassle of parking up on matchday and keeping the kids entertained.

i’d much rather Rupp sold up and Sparks was replaced, and i’d renew my ST immediately.

the statement doesn’t change anything for me. I don’t trust Sparks one bit. Been going since 1993 to pretty much every home game. Had several years commuting back from York in that time for a bit.

Don’t buy into the current ethos and despise Rupps apathy (rejecting the petition is sickening) and think Sparks is out of his depth. Would crawl over broken glass to see a David Baldwin-led consortium running the club instead of the current shitshow.

Just reached the point where I just don’t care. Match days are a chore, the football is shite, the atmosphere is shite. Whats the point in going, to be disappointed?

Even in the past under Rhodes, Rhodes/Lawn when we were shit, I could still identify with the club and understand the reasons.

There is no excuse for the current owners disinterest and the CEOs incompetence. Theyre neglecting our club and I’ve had enough.

Oh absolutely, love him to bits but no way would I want to see him as DoF. We need someone with zero connections to the club imo, a completely fresh pair of eyes who isn't going to be afraid to come in and tell some home truths.

They have duped the majority of the fan base long enough and it appears it would have gone on infinitum with them serving the poor product on the pitch. The penny has dropped with them now there are with vast gaps in the seating areas in VP - where fans should be sat and the poor ST take up to date..
They now want our trust to implement what has been lacking so it will boost the ST numbers Without evidence or seeing it I for one still need convincing.

I bet you said the same when Rupp sacked Edin and promised "a new chapter for this football club".

    How has that worked out?

Maybe, Stefan had planned to make his annual match day visit for the Mansfield game,
Supposed big match and all .
Realised how poor it really is and kept a more open eye on results since.
Thus calling Sparks over for a meeting and hopefully telling him, its not good enough, how you are looking after my investment.
    I certainly would.
