A load of shite, so Ryan flew out to meet him yesterday...why didn't he discuss it with Rupp last week when he was in the UK?? Purely released on the basis of trying to stop the protest. I want to see Sparks relieved of his duties

I'm just wondering why Ryan needed to fly to Germany on Wednesday when Rupp was over here just last week?
Was Ryan of the opinion that everything was absolutely fine at that point and the meeting was in fact just a knee jerk response to the growing threat of protests?
I don't need an answer btw, I'm just giggling to myself at how thick RS thinks the supporter base is!bantamdave41, Onside, Petrov and 17 others like this. -
Taking off cynical specs, fair play, he has answered some points doing the rounds and seems to be suggesting a much improved playing budget and improvements in the “football department”.

What a crock of sh!t. I held my breath waiting for the part where Sparks hands his notice in. Sadly though, I finished reading the article thinking that it was Ryan who wrote it.

Really?
Some people will pretend that little demonstrations outside VP won't have any impact.

I think this statement is a step in the right direction. It will be interesting to see how the football department will change.

Part of my discussion with Ryan yesterday concerned the football department, and Ryan expressed a desire to add to that operation and assist our existing staff to achieve better outcomes. Ryan will be able to share more details on this matter before the season ends.

"Before the season ends"?
How about now, right now, while season tickets are on sale?
It's not rocket science. We have told the club over and over and over again that they need a Director of Football, so what in the world is the hold up? Announce the plan, then hire the right man.Bantam75, bantamdave41, Bantam-in-Greece and 12 others like this. -

Suppose a miracle does happen and Rupp sticks to his promises - he invests in the playing budget and provides a wage for a DOF.
It's still Sparks who will be responsible for appointing that DOF - the same man who has failed in every single appointment he's made at this club. And it will be Sparks and Gent responsible for spending the increased budget, the two men who have contributed to some of the worst squads in living memory.
Nothing will change whilst Sparks remains.Tolly856, CRASS, Keefly Bantam and 12 others like this. -
Until Sparks is moved away from the CEO role, an football people are brought in to make the footballing decisions, nothing is going to change

“The time for change has come and this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club,” said Rupp.
“The people of Bradford deserve much, much better.
“I will do everything in my power to wash away the dreadful memories of the last 12 months and consign them to the history books for good.
“I have invested significantly in the club over the past two seasons and will continue to do so.

What happened to the continued significant investment, and why was the decision made to go for sustainability so quickly?

I’m afraid I’m with 95% of on people in here.
Basically this is nothing more than a letter to the fans ‘painted by numbers’.
I actually find it an embarrassing read if I’m honest. It looks and feels like it was written by a 16 year old trying to convince his girlfriend not to dump him.
I’m afraid it shows more disdain towards us fans if he feels this garbage is all us ‘idiots’ need to read to believe in him and Ryan.
I have openly supported Sparks in the past but I’m afraid I’m now in total agreement that the fella is out of his depth I’m afraid. Hopefully we can find him another role as commercially he is a good operator, and let’s be fair, he probably has a mortgage to pay. I never lose sight of the fact that behind every ‘sack him’ call there is a family behind that person.

2018:
Rupp said: “[The manager] is the man to take us forward - in the long-term - and get the team moving in the right direction, away from the foot of the table.
“He faces a huge challenge, there is no doubt about that, but we all stand right behind him. [The manager] is currently scouring the market to strengthen the squad as injuries continue to trouble us.
“There have been more than a dozen players unavailable for several weeks and this will again be the case when the team faces Gillingham, tomorrow.
“If our position does not improve then [the manager] will be backed in January and there will be money to spend. He will get complete support in terms of the players he wishes to bring to the club.
“Likewise, [the Manager] has of course the power to make changes to his backroom team. But, again, decisions rest with him and he will be fully backed.
“Staying in League One is of paramount importance and we will do everything in our power to ensure this season ends on a positive note.
“We have made a very disappointing start to the season and we are hurting, as is everyone, our loyal supporters and partners.
“I look forward to attending some games next month and hope you will be there, getting behind the team as we take on the difficult challenges ahead of us.
“We now need to stick together as your support can really help us turn things around.”
