It’s ridiculous that this thread keeps getting reignited after a defeat. Seems to be the same protagonist too.

    Give it a rest

The players aren't dud, just misused. It's like ringing an electrician to fix a bust water main.

I’m not sure how Ryan Sparks is to blame, he appointed a manager most were delighted to get. There is zero evidence of interference in the team selection from him so why should he go? He could and maybe should have taken the advice of Darragh McAnthony and appointed Evans but there would have been a meltdown with the City supporters.

Not a great admirer of Sparks to be honest but all he has done is appoint (on paper) a top class manager to help with his own inexperience and provided funds to build us a large but ineffective squad that ain't his fault unless you think he signed them, picks the team, and dictates tactics ??
We have the least experienced CEO and the most experienced manager in the League
MH who most at the time we're wetting themselves about is not a L2 manager his mask is slipping to reveal Derek Adams !! (a shuddering thought)
You can "big up" Fat Boy Slim" , Wellens and any other manager you want but sadly it doesn't guarantee success
At some point we have to stick with what we have and MAKE it work!!!

Not yet. But the warning signs are blaring like the flood sirens at Todmorden in wet weather. Yesterday was on a par with the shite Bowyer served us up at the end of his spell, it was clueless, the players looked frightened at times and the body language of certain players suggested all was not right. I'll wait and see what Hughes does in January but its clear we need to move on half a dozen players already and bring new ones in. Sad indictment of a transfer policy giving the likes of Oliver and Young long term contracts but with no real idea how and where we are going to play them.
To be 11 points off the autos at this stage of the season should be question emphatically.

I would go along with that if it looked like it was building into making it work ............. but it isn’t :( you seriously think that this style of play will get us out of this league ????? The players lack confidence because they are basically being asked to do something that there not capable of doing ..................we simply ain’t good enough to do what Hughes is expecting he did the same at higher levels because they could play that way ............ this bunch sadly can’t ............ honestly I would rather see the old hoof ball and us actually penning teams in rather than this tippy tappy going knowhere dross

Just looked at the thread when Hughes was appointed and shock horror not one person having a go at Sparks for bringing him in ............maybe the folk having a go at Sparks now should have vent there frustrations back then :) one loon who thinks he knows everything thought that Hughes was the key to mass investment from an outsider :)

He obviously thought we were capable of getting a result playing his formation, I was surprised when changes were made he actually kept Cook on with Oliver along side him.
If he was to go 4-4-2 I wouldn't have Oliver as Cook strike partner, even though he's not started for a while and wasn't even on the bench yesterday Angol would play for me with one out and out wideman and the likes of Walker taking up the Nicky Law/Gary Thompson role dropping back into midfield when required.
I don't believe Hughes is a fool something has to change and as manager he has to take responcability.

If we'd have turned Hughes down, can you imagine the backlash Sparks would have got, particularly after Adams. I think we let him see out his contract, then wish him bon voyage. I haven't seen anything to say we're building something for the future, other than handing 3 year deals to players he won't put on the pitch. I suppose like players, not all top managers can manage at the lower level without having the knowledge of what's needed.

Yes maybe through gritted teeth, but you can never tell, it is speculation. If he wasn’t in autos by Christmas the clamour for his head would have been deafening! I really can’t stand him!

MH can only send the team onto the pitch with his plan/orders
Most of our poor performances are down to the team
No shots or defending mistakes are not down to him

I'm in the camp... Be careful what you wish for.

It ain't perfect, undoubtedly mistakes occur, but we sit tidly in the table with plenty to play for.

I thought there were a couple of good moves from him, that his colleagues totally wasted and then he got drawn into been rubbish like the rest of them.

I think Walker is a more savvy footballer and even in these two sub appearances, he's showed more footie intelligence than Chapman has almost all season. Plus his body language is far better. He's fairly feisty - which if you remember that's one of the reasons Adam's bought him to us.

It's going to take another 4 or 5 matches for him to be back to peak fitness etc.

Yeah, no where near as shocking as ducking out of the way of the ball when trying to head it.

    Yes I was there
They were poor misses for a striker who is second top scorer in the league with the same sort of service Oliver has been getting
Remind me again how many goals Oliver has this season ??

Absolutely this. What anyone has done at a higher level or at any level prior to now is irrelevant if they aren't doing the business here and now. That is all that matters at this moment and whilst Cook has had a recent blip, I've more confidence in him regaining his form than I have of Oliver pushing on and bagging a ton of goals for us.

Is that the best you can offer 31 league one goals in 126 league one games, 92 in total over his career of 410 games across his playing career, for a fan who say's he doesn't care who plays you're a little damming in the above comment he scored 1 in 3 games (a penalty) and missed a few easy chances at Carlisle and he gets dropped to the bench, for crying out loud during Cooks time at Valley Parade he's been our leading scorer every season, having been out injured many weeks last season, behave.

Spurs at home in the 60’s, I had to sit on the cinders in front of the Bradford end wall. H&S would have had us shut down for that now.
