I've always had a lot of time for him. His work in coming on as an 'enforcer' has been vital in a fair few matches

 

Our midfield is poor.

Look, no one is saying he should start but football is a squad game and as I say we sometimes need different kind of players to come on and protect us in games.

 

You mean like when we loaned out Doyle and Vaughan to Swindon and Tranmere?
Both did fantastic and fired their respective teams to promotion.

 

Absolutely agree he’s a good one for the last 10-20 minutes, any longer I think he’s been found wanting tbh.Like the chap but we have to be honest.

 

Good luck to Yann. Wasn't good enough to be a starter but was just the man you'd want to bring on to see a game out. Obviously he wasn't content with that and wanted to play which is fair enough. I'd imagine Kelly is fit and available now though, otherwise we'd be short at CB.

 

I'm sure Bristol Rovers fans are glad that Joey Barton didn't give up last season - when they were, amazingly, even more pessimistic than you.

Fact is we're five points behind the 3rd place team, not twenty five.

 

Tranmere were last promoted in the 18/19 season and we loaned Vaughan to them on 29th Jan 2020, so his loan didn't result in them going up.

 

Happy to stand and be corrected, but apart from Doyle I cannot remember any player loaned out in recent seasons that has significantly improved the loaned to club/back-fired on us - please correct me if I am wrong?

With this in mind I understand recent transfers for both club and player. Specifically on Songo’o, I really like him however don’t see where hes getting games at the moment so only fair to him he is given this move.

Hughes will ultimately be judged at the end of the season whether this recent transfer activity was successful or not. Right now he doesn’t stand a chance as some will say he’s wrong and some will say he’s right. For me, I’ll reserve judgment till May.

 

Much like Angol, who is on the bench for Sutton today. Young's on the bench for Barrow as well but I guess that's progress for him, given he couldn’t get anywhere near ours.

Tbf I never specifically said effort I just stared 100%, which is effort and ability. If that’s not good enough blame the recruiter not employee.

 

Not getting a regular start, but a good squad player who can play defence and midfield.
Not sure why would let him go out on loan, unless he has been demanding a starting place

 

I wrote elsewhere that this is not a good move.

We've just given Walsall, the best team I've seen and who will go above us if they win their games in hand, an experienced team oriented midfielder - who's won promotion not so long ago!!

Madness!!!! But, once Clayton came, there was no way Hughes could make Yann stay.

 

Reading between the lines he may think he's still a league one level player as he says he wanted to join them as they could get promoted. He probably didn't want to commit to a longer contract but wait and see where they end up at the end of the season and if he performs well then he'll be in a strong position. It's a risk but good luck to him.

 

Disappointed with this he had that bit of physicality that this team lacks. Not a good move in my opinion if it leads to another decent signing it might be different

 

Not if you listen to me. I did say they were 8 better teams with higher chances of going up.

 

did you include Carlisle in that 8?

 

So what is your point? He hasn't gone to a national league team? He has gone to a promotion rival. Doesn't matter if it's a loan or a transfer, consistently letting players leave for teams around us is just stupid.

 

Not nitpicking Jon but I doubt he was below Kelly in the CB pecking order
