I think you should not rush this all quite so much. You need to make sure you do not frighten off new investors. Why have only one or two investors/consortia seeking to buy out the current owners for peanuts when you could maybe entice more groups with deeper pockets if you don't scare them off. The current crew are more likely to sell if they are offered a better price. That means not scaring potential new owners off with stories of militant fans or crowds that vanish on a run of bad form. I don't think there is anything wrong with fans complaining about penny-pinching and poor performance, and expressing their dislike of the way things are being run. I'm just saying you should consider how potential investors will view actions from fans when you are thinking about ways to protest. That is, unless fans want to buy the club themselves, and that seems unlikely at this stage.

And if you think "Save Our City" sounds a bit tame, I thought "Spitting Feathers" might be a suitable name for disgruntled fans group.

IMO the initial logo works best
It's very simple but clean - changing the font to a serif adds "fuss" to no benefit.

We all know the answers to these questions - people love to moan & complain; and some even go through with the threats but if/when they pick up then everyone will suddenly say they were always there and always knew it would be fine; its the way of the fickle fan!

That said if things dont pick up we'll end up with no fans and no club & we'll all be watching Avenue....

Only thing that gets me is im not sure what a protest now achieves other than destabilising a fragile team further, annoying a chairman who come January we are expecting to put his hands in his pockets to buy players (as we as fans have already paid our £7 to attend games.....) and it would put off any potential players coming as they will see the toxic environent & who in there right minds would com to that.... and thus we get relegated through owner incompetence and fans bloodymindedness & inability to see a bigger picture, that said doing nothing and we might still go down......

I'd wait until after January to see; but im a pragmatist. I can totally see some people shoot from the hip and believe a protest now will somehow make everything better - I struggle to see how so if someone could explain?

Get the SOC in the middle if thats what youre going for. If you make stickers etc along the bottom in a curve put the twitter handle and website and get the message out that way. Stick them everywhere.

Let's do nothing. At least we can say we stood by and watched our club turn to sh1t.

 

Football is one of the few industries where fans will still attend when the product's not worth their time, effort or cash. If a once brilliant pub in a fantastic location that was thriving and popular, but was taken over mismanaged and its popularity waned. Would somebody not try and buy it because it was being badly run? Or see that it was once booming and could be again?

Zero potential buyers of City are going to be dissuaded because of 'militant fans'. They'll be diligent enough to research what it was like prior to its mismanagement and hopefully try to replicate those times. If anything, fans protesting indicates that they're committed, passionate and loyal. I'd say any possible owners would rather invest in a business like that. Opposed to one where nobody gives a fig and the club goes downhill without anyone saying or doing anything about it.

 

Fair enough, I struggle to see how protesting and boycotting now will encourage a better response but at least it a reason.

 

@Bantam42 still doesn't seem like there's a clear aim / message with the group and flyover reading other threads. also posts talking of flyposting and vandalising the stadium won't help the cause, especially if the groups logo is used on the posters - flyposting is still illegal isn't it?

i think you need the aim sorting asap or there'll be disillusionment in the ranks and what happens if people can't agree on the aim? is it edin out, both owners out, change of direction, increased investment?

 

Don’t worry @Bantam42 it is better to take our time, and get it right. Don’t feel pressured or let others push you, and especially those that are not interested in protesting.

I have had a quick look at the BCS aims and objectives, all looks fairly standard fare tbh, we can re-jig that to suit, no point in reinventing the wheel.

We are doing just fine, Twitter has 500 followers last time I looked. Haven’t seen FB, yet.
