Sky Sports pundits sacked

I would think the audience is 95% white male. A few birds will watch it ,but probably cos their fella is watching it. So if they start making it more diverse to an audience that isn't really that diverse then it doesn't make sense.

 

I don't think its about the diversity of the audience, but the opportunity for diversity.

 

But what's the point when it doesn't fit with the target audience.

 

I think their issue is that the audience numbers are reducing so they are trying to mix it up a bit to stop the slide

I used to watch it and enjoyed all 4 of the panel and Jeff. I stopped because I was either going to more away games or watching them on iFollow which isn’t difficult even if you are in this country. I’m sure many up and down the country are the same, which watch pundits talking about other clubs when you can watch every game of your team now. I also think it’s a bit old hat now watching the scores come in, you can go out and just check on your smart phone for score updates. I don’t think mixing it up will change the ratings much if at all.

Exactly if it’s your own team you’d be focused on them not the scores. Ifollow will have taken a decent number of fans up and down the country away from watching Gillette soccer most people can find a way to watch their team now even if it’s a 3pm kickoff on Saturday.

 

Sorry but I don't agree, that won't arrest the slide it will make it even slippier. Just have a look at Twitter and see the people complaining, they know what's coming and they're not happy. People pay alot of money for Sky.

 

The point is to let women and people of colour get equal opportunities in the workplace. Do you think all this guff about the lack of black managers, is to attract more black footballers to the game?

 

But surely women should be encouraged to work on the women's side of the game and make that bigger? Black managers is slightly different as they're working for clubs and not a company which is being paid for by customers (except their fans ofc). There is however a high percentage of black players and yes I agree there should be more black managers as it is out of kilter. But as the old saying goes only pick the best person for the job regardless of colour or gender

 

Luckily I'm usually at City so rarely catch it, but if that Alex Scott is on every week I'll move over to the one on BBC whenever I'm in.

 

Apparently the audience for it has been going down steadily over last few years, if they don’t turn it around it might not see out the season.

I totally agree with you, but I personally think women presenting football and commentating on cricket aren't there to encourage women to take up the sport, but just to stop the left wing brigade moaning that women are under represented across the board (room). Same with blacks. It's getting to the stage now where it's becoming more offensive, because a black person has just been shoe horned into a role because it's "the correct thing to do". Have a look at the next ad break on tv. There's been a rapid rise of mixed race marriages appearing in adverts, and a load of people of colour now popping up on Emmerdale Farm etc. It's not cos the writers want to get more of this demographic watching the show, its because we live in a woke fearful society and they feel they have to comply.
