Why does it need to be balanced though? That's what gets me.

I couldn't care less if it was 7 green aliens doing the show, as long as its entertaining that's the first and only concern for me.

The world is going to s*** and I genuinely feel sorry for my kids and (hopefully) grandkids. Too many entitled and offended types are shouting the loudest and prioritising things that 90% of folk genuinely couldn't care less about.

 

But surely women should be encouraged to work on the women's side of the game and make that bigger? Black managers is slightly different as they're working for clubs and not a company which is being paid for by customers (except their fans ofc). There is however a high percentage of black players and yes I agree there should be more black managers as it is out of kilter. But as the old saying goes only pick the best person for the job regardless of colour or gender

 

I totally agree with you, but I personally think women presenting football and commentating on cricket aren't there to encourage women to take up the sport, but just to stop the left wing brigade moaning that women are under represented across the board (room). Same with blacks. It's getting to the stage now where it's becoming more offensive, because a black person has just been shoe horned into a role because it's "the correct thing to do". Have a look at the next ad break on tv. There's been a rapid rise of mixed race marriages appearing in adverts, and a load of people of colour now popping up on Emmerdale Farm etc. It's not cos the writers want to get more of this demographic watching the show, its because we live in a woke fearful society and they feel they have to comply.

 

Haven’t watched soccer Saturday for years, it’s shite, always has been, probably still is, and probably always will be, with or without the brilliant Micah Richards...It epitomises all what shit about modern football, the cheeky Nando’s, Facebook ‘bantz’, ‘big club’ replica shirt wearing, Tim Lovejoy types, who hang on every word the brain dead panelist’s say...It’s not for me.

Clinton Morrison is good though.
Remember the verbals he got warming up as a sub in front of the main stand.
Cant remember which club it was as he's played for that many.
Being a striker that can score, obviously never featured for City.

 

Personally be glad to see the back of the boring old buggers. All the racist undertones about what presenters should replace them, it should be down to how good they are. Micah Richards should be a certainty just for that infectious laugh, after that who knows? Hope it doesn't go down the talksport route, that radio channel is almost unlistenable now.

In my mind the programme needed a change. I was shocked to hear Merson is still there as he is rubbish. I would have kept Thommo but the other two I am not fussed about.

Micah Richards I am not a fan of myself, I think he wants to be the clown and is far too much of a Man City head that it clouds his judgement but I understand why he is in the frame and its the same reason why Merson is still there. Sky clearly don't want too many serious pundits now. You only need to watch Neville and Carra to find out that's how Sky want to go..BANTER ROUTE and people that can have a laugh at themselves. Suppose its why Clinton Morrison gets on Sky Sports often as well.

Alex Scott is a decent presenter but she should be a leading one. I don't get women talking on a panel about the mens game but I don't mind them being head communicator like Gabby and Kelly.

Going back to the main points though I can understand why Sky after 22 years have made this decision.
