Which would be fine had he actually been poorly positioned....! If there is any criticism, it’s the fact that he leaned his bodyweight to his right and the shot went to his left, leaving him a little flat footed.

But his starting position was good...! And most keepers wouldn’t have kept it out

Not often I agree with Keefly, but he’s spot on here.

As for slowing the game down..... if I had a criticism of O'Donnell, it’s that he releases the ball too quickly, often punting it straight down field instead of looking to see if we can play it out from the back

Not sure about that, The wall should cover one half of the goal and the keeper positioned to cover the other, For the goal they are both covering nearly the same half giving an invitation to shoot not for the first time, It is the keeper who sets the wall and it was poorly set

Poppycock. I’m assuming you’re a trained keeper or keeper coach seen as you claim to know what a keeper should be doing and where he should be stood?

The wall was positioned well. The shot was perfectly placed. It wasn’t the wall that failed to do its job. You’re picking faults where there was no fault. Sometime you just have to admire the shot

The shot was a good shot no doubt, But the amount of space not covered by the wall was an invitation to shoot, Suggest you watch the video again and see the space not covered, The keeper was never going to reach it

You should get your arse down to VP and formally offer your goalkeeping coaching skills. You could be the missing link to us stopping up.

How tall do you think our players are? Even if we covered the entire length of the goalmouth, they’d still have needed to get on each other’s shoulders to have covered the height as well as the length

I wasn't the one offering detailed goalkeeping advice. I assumed, clearly wrongly now, you actually knew what you were talking about.

Look at this screen shot of that free kick, there player stood at the end of our wall gave Cadiss a right shove to give the lad taking the free kick that extra couple of foot, I was disappointed as I thought the wall let O'Donnell down but seeing it in real time the wall didn't cover the only place Okenabirhie could score from

If you look at the screen shot @BoingBoing@BoingBoing has just posted you can see Cadiss going down the referee should have given a free kick to us.

Argument for a free kick to us there.

FFS I've read some drivel in my times and had to put up with listening to inept opinions, but criticising O'Donnell as a persistently poor player takes the frigging biscuit.

It was up and over irrespective of how far over the wall went. If you look at the trajectory of the ball, it’s higher than anyone in the wall anyway.

The likes of Trevor are scapegoating. Simple as that

That referee was dog turd, one of the most inconsistent officials I remember seeing.

Not afraid to make a big call, just horribly skittish in terms of decision making.

It's like he didn't know where the line was for physical fouls, so just sorta guessed most of the time.

He set the tone with his penalising of Akpan with the first tackle of the game, incidently a perfectly legal tackle. Piss poor refereeing for most of the game.

Agree, it was astonishing how poor his decisions were. I didn’t notice the foul on Caddis, just appalling and he can hardly say he didn’t see it!, He didn’t pull them up for the many shoves on our players, but Payne gave one of theirs a shove he couldn’t wait to blow it up. I also wonder what that smile was all about when we scored our winner, weird.

That's such a blatant shove on Caddis. Astonishing that the ref didn't penalise it. Great hit though. It don't think O'Donnell could do much about it.
And looking at the penalty - it's really soft. Caddis's left leg is out but it doesn't move. Their guy deliberately runs over it and falls down - he isn't tripped.
I also thought at the time that the free kick given against Akpan, that they scored from, was incredibly harsh. It looked like a fair, ball-winning challenge to me.
We certainly didn't get the rub of the green on any of those calls.
