I agree i don't think any Chairman has any intention of running down their club/business, just sometimes their best intentions leave a lot to be desired.

By that comment are you saying members on this forum posting stuff they've heard, if so don't you believe some of the conversations we've shared should be made known on the forum ?.

I am saying what motives do the owners have for running the club into the ground.

I don't think they're intentionally doing it. They're just clueless as to how to run an English football club.

To put it as simply as I can ... they have no motivation to run the club down! But then despite what you keep saying, nobody is suggesting that what has happened was by deliberate intent.

The two of them have invested millions of their own money in buying the club. If they had wanted to get rid of their own money in a reckless way, I can think of lots of other ways other than buying a football club in another country. But the reality, our club probably dropped in value under their ownership. And the two of them have to take responsibility for that. Without going over all of the old ground, some posters on C&B identified last summer's recruitment as insufficient with not enough quality nor numbers and experience in the event of lack of form, injuries, illnesses etc. For one, I don't blame Rahic for that; I don't blame Abbott and I don't blame McCall. I blame all three of them for putting the club in that position and not thinking through the consequences of that approach. We were overly reliant on developing young players which was always a gamble. It might be a successful approach in years to come but when the plan (not an aspiration, not a vision, not a hope but a plan!) was to get promoted to the Championship, it was an enormous gamble which doesn't look like paying off. That strategy was and is the owners.

I believe that the owners have seriously underestimated the effort required to get into the Championship and I don't believe they understand how different is lower league football ownership in England compared to Germany. In Germany, it's all very business like and their 50+1 ownership scheme prevents clubs being owned exclusively by a small number of shareholders. I don't believe they understand how successful clubs at out level are dependent either on the left over remnants of parachute payments for some clubs or how some owners subsidise their hobbies to a significant degree. I don't believe our owners will do this unless it's a conscious decision on their part to somehow protect their current investment. But that's risky and it's just not the German way.

But unfortunately their lack of understanding of English lower league football will cost the club dearly and hit them hard in their pockets. There is little we as fans can do in a practical sense but some have clearly voted with their feet. And I don't blame them whatsoever. As I wrote on C&B, I came close to joining them and it was only the need to hang onto our current seats which led to our renewal. Most of our group expect something to happen to improve things and didn't want to give up our seats willingly in case things did change for the better. I don't know what that might be but #IbelievesomethingwillhappenwhichMasoncan'tpredict!

So Park, I don't believe that the owners are deliberately running the club down. But their collective actions along with those responsible for recruitment and the make-up of the squad have all contributed to where we are now. And it will take some enormous effort on their part to pull us out of this.

See I just don't see it.... its Edins club if he wants to rename the suites (for whatever reason) thats up to him, and really doesnt impact on any of our lives. We still remember what great players they were to the club & if we still refer to them as that then nothing changes, seems people try and find anything that Edin doe and then try and get upset about it - I'm sure if people really look at themselves they won't care what he does with the names, and if they do may I suggest finding a hobby or a man/woman/vegetable that will take up the amount of free time they clearly have! (not a dig at you @Bronco@Bronco by the way!) - incidentally I had no idea it was called the Northern Commercial Stadium... what a crud name!

Poor due diligence and actual knowledge of running a football club ?, I do believe they got very lucky last season and think because of our recent past history they thought it was only a matter of change the manager and everything will be hunky dory.

They say one thing and do another, http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/14511886.Parkinson_position_should_be_top_of_agenda_for_Bradford_City__39_s_new_overlords/ ,here are a few comments from the article :
Rahic is due to sit down with Phil Parkinson this afternoon. It will be the first time the manager has met either of his two new bosses face-to-face.

Parkinson has already made his stance for the summer crystal clear. In the immediate aftermath of Friday's play-off disappointment at Millwall, he spoke of the need to strengthen specific areas to engineer his team's jump from top six to top two next season,
that went well, ring any bells a similar situation during the current closed season when Stuart wanted to add a bit more quality to the squad but Edin knew better ?.

New men in charge traditionally like to have their "own" man at the helm.

It seems ridiculous to be even discussing the future prospects of the manager who has dragged City back from the doldrums and made them a proud club once more.

It did to most but obviously not Edin.

Parkinson is thought to be open-minded on developments for now. Until he hears exactly what the new owners have in store, he remains relaxed about the unfolding situation.

He was until he heard Edin's intentions.

He will want to know the necessary investment will be put at his disposal to improve the team enough for a genuine challenge at automatic promotion.

Another situation that Stuart had to work under not knowing the player transfer budget, openly stated by Edin at the fans forum.

    Here a classic : http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/14513502.Rahic_and_Rupp_officially_unveiled_as_new_owners_at_Bradford_City/

One of the very first statements they made “We do not have plans to make big changes but to work with the existing structure. We have seen the way the club and fans interact and the model of affordable football is very important to us".

That went well, the first time they sat down and talked about the way they wanted the club running Parkinson said that's not my way good bye.

    Another article here : http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/14524069.New_Bantams_boss_wants___39_hands_on__39__approach_with_Parkinson_deals/

This has to be the most audacious comment Edin ever made with regards our club and his intentions :
NEW City joint-owner Edin Rahic believes he can box clever with Phil Parkinson as his “sparring partner”.

You really have to be an egocentric to make that sort of comment to a guy who has possibly forgotten more than Edin knows about football.

There are loads more I could post, one of the first being, we aren't here to change things why would we ?.

Rahic has held his first couple of meetings with the Bantams boss following the German takeover last week, discussing the potential budget and plans for the squad for next season.

Being based full-time at Valley Parade, he intends to be more “hands on” in his approach while business partner Stefan Rupp will fly in frequently from Germany.

And Rahic hopes his close interest and background in the game will give Parkinson someone to bounce his ideas off.

    Great research Dave
Some great comments in the T@A article just after the takeover
People had doubts back then which sadly were realized

Not really difficult mate T&A have search facility and you just type City's new owners and there is loads of quotes from them, one of the first quotes being "why would we change what has been successful for the last few year" and then did exactly the opposite.
IMO they got lucky the first season, fan's were buoyant as they had said they would invest in the club, we still had some very experience players from the Parkinson era, they added the likes of Vincelot, Stuart talked Mark Marshall around to stay another season (that was a massive plus) we brought Josh back for the full season, everything was very positive and so was our season beyond ours and the new owners wildest dreams.

Then during the closed season some fans heard about what they had said to Stuart and things could never be the same with regards trust between the board and the manager, once again Stuart worked wonders even though several top pros went for their own reasons, but others were let go because the new owners wanted rid of the so called "big earners" it was always an uphill battle for Stuart as he knew the first period of negative results he would be gone.
That's all history and we have to look forward with optimism to the coming season but there is still unrest within the club and we need some positive signs from the owners that we will a force in league one next season, over to you Edin & Stefan.

Seems like james mason has now been silenced on twitter. He has has stated his account is now a personal account and as such will not be fielding any city queries on there.. Shame that as he was always fairly helpful to those with genuine questions and dilemmas, as opposed to the official club account that take around three days to reply if you are lucky

Maybe he intends explaining what offensive remarks he made which led to him being sacked?

The club are hardly going to be praised by an ex-employee who was sacked for making a comment/remark that another employee also made (allegedly) and didn't get sacked, the club then settled out of court (allegedly) and the other employee is still at the club ?.
Although they say don't do you dirty washing in public I'd say get it out there and let's have a clean slate for the coming season.

Just wondered why he doesn’t say anything now then rather than trailing it. Makes it sound like attention seeking
