in some ways, the cheap season tickets just add to the lack of ambition within our fanbase. people are more willing to accept mediocrity or outright failure, just because tickets are cheap.
Park's posts in this thread are pretty much what I'm talking about - incandescent at the sheer thought of someone not renewing at 'just' £150.

£150 is fantastic value, and huge credit should go to the club for bringing in this pricing strategy and sticking with it, however that doesn't mean people should be expected to splash out regardless of the fayre on a Saturday afternoon. I don't blame anyone that hasn't or isn't going to renew for next season - this season simply hasn't been worth £150. you wouldn't pay £6 every other week to go to the cinema and watch a film you already know is crap.
having had your weekend ruined and getting angry isn't something you'd pay for normally, so based on this season I absolutely understand why someone wouldn't be willing to go through it all again in the league BELOW the one we're currently playing in. League football at £150 or not.

selling tickets cheap and having big gates for the level doesn't give the club a free pass, and attendances will rightly fall. you've got to give people something to keep coming back for, and at the moment they aren't.

    Up the price now.

Want to see Rupp spend on decent transfer fees now.

Been too cheap for years. Makes no difference as a selling point to signing players now.

    £200 -£250 is a fair price.

Why are we fretting about budgets and having to increase season ticket prices drastically YET AGAIN?

All the beer mat calculations in the world won't guarantee we even make a penny out of it, meanwhile we have been told our budget is very sizeable indeed - it's just been wasted on a bloated squad who didn't want to play for the guy signing the checks.

That's all changed now; imagine how good we could be if that money is actually invested wisely, instead of frittered away.

No reason WHATSOEVER to be having this discussion IMO.

Although i always buy a ST, I welcome the return of the flexis. A lot of people cant get to every game for various reasons, work, where they live, family reasons, so good to see them back for those fans

Affordable is one thing. Underpricing is another.

Fans paying more to help the club compete for better players is something that's long over due.

Absolutely spot on by the club.
Great prices and another piece of the "we have got our city back" jigsaw.
Stefan Rupp deserves great credit for doing this , especially after pumping more of his own money into the club. It would have been easy to up prices to try to increase revenue but that would have been a risky move.
Advertising revenue is based on eyes in the ground so more eyes the higher the leverage for the club.

Its part of being a football fan though, our expectations are always a step away from reality. It's part of the thing that keeps you coming back, the hope that there's always something better around the corner. In an ideal world we would just accept our lot, resign ourselves to the fact that we are what we are, a lower league club thats had successful blips here and there. But to do that you would take away one of the dreams of every football fan, that the grass is indeed greener on the other side.

If we insist on keeping low season tickets, then we should accept that the level of players coming into the club will reflect this. Maybe Hopkin can polish a turd but there’ll be a few disappointed fans, when they realise we probably won’t be spending large chunks of money to push on.

Maintaining last seasons price would’ve been acceptable, but to reduce them seems odd to me. With Edin gone I think most of the stay away fans would have renewed at £169. Reintroducing flexi gave them another option too. I would have maintained the price from last season at the very least.

I'd have to agree. The one that really gets me is those who won't renew because of league 2 football - surely you support Bradford city and who we play is irrelevant. I'd never put any fan down who didn't renew but I'm struggling to understand this reasoning I'm afraid.

Would urge any doubters etc to go out and renew season tickets to help the club to rebuild after nearly been destroyed, The club now are getting on an even keel with Rhodes at the helm and Stefan promising to be here and financing the club, A new long term manager is to be soon appointed so the only thing missing in the equation to build the club back to a stable club is YOU!!!

with players that aren't his and in all likelihood having worked with them a bit now he will want to bin off and get his own players in. My main expectation of him is to not get too depressed at how bad we are and quit like Hopkin did.

Can't stress enough how much I believe the players to be at fault now as its been more than one manager and approach. They all need to go and no manager can be judged until we shift pretty much the entire squad bar caddis and o'donnell. All of them have had enough chance to prove themselves now and trying yet another manager won't suddenly make them world beaters.

Each to their own. Renew or don’t renew, renew and don’t attend what ever you decide is up to you and no one else.

But if you are going to comment on a forum about it then expect people with the opposite view to comment. That is how forums work. If you don’t like that then Internet forums are probably not for you.

I think that with season tickets the deadline day should be scrapped and left at £150 until the week before next season starts. A lot of supporters are really down at the moment and not interested but come summer and hopefully some decent signings the mood will lift and more will buy, lets face it there won't be many that will buy after 14th April.

I think what cheap tickets have achieved is a big increase in our core support which until they were introduced was about 5 or 6 thousand the amount who seemed to have renewed in our present predicament shows we have nearly doubled that which is great

    Why?

If it was conscription then I could sort of get it but it isn’t. People make an informed choice to join the armed forces, why should they get anything free from other companies ?
