But ultimately, it's not about the headline price - it's about affordability.
Burnley operates a pay monthly scheme to spread payments. So you get people to sign up on 1st March and by the 1st August, you've got 6 months cash in the bank.
Charge £25 a month and it's very affordable (83p a day. Less than a Snickers at a petrol station) - perceived as easier to pay than £150 in a lump sum. At a stoke, you've doubled your season ticket income.
Also getting people on direct debit results in less churn and it's an easier way to ratchet prices gradually by CPI+
When Sky came out, people paid £100 per annum for TV licenses and people thought the TV licence was expensive. Now people pay over £1k a year on Sky by paying monthly. The direct debit goes up every year 2 weeks before the football season starts.
So it's never just about price and always more about affordability. It's why people buy new cars on PCP finance.
Burnley collects over 100% of their revenue (defaulters lose access and pay a reinstatement fee which more than covers the bad debt)
Very simple to introduce with a mobile phone scanning the ticket QR code. The software is a couple of grand and Android phones £50-100 would be needed at turnstiles to validate the season tickets.Dennis likes this. -

Shaft the 25 yearers and potentially lose those who come along with.
That aside, not sure now is the time to be increasing season ticket prices - if and when we see a positive turn on the pitch then they should capitalise with incremental increases.Kopendin1964 likes this. -
But the club got the full £2500 from fans who paid by credit card, so lost no revenue.Gardscoigne likes this. -

I am aware of one person who successfully claimed over £3,000 back from their credit card company, as they were able to successfully claim for future losses, based on the season ticket price at the time they made their claim.Stop hovering to collapse... Over here, wife got her 1st pfizer shot last week (school nurse), I am in 2nd priority group. Will probably have it. Imagine it will be in the next 2 weeks or so.

However anyone who attempted to purchase separate Health Insurance, which is really an extremely wise move, would probably find the premium far higher, unless they had been vaccinated. If someone made a false declaration, then it would invalidate the Insurance.Keefly Bantam likes this. -
It is unlikely we will get in VP this season, selling Season Tickets for next season will be tough. Although present form will help. But is it about time we got some tiering into the pricing, premium seats premium prices, cheaper pricing for less favourable seats. Think at least £350 for halfway prime seats but £100 in a poor view seat

So yes I think everyone who bought for this season should get the same or better deal.Ulysses S Grant likes this. -
I fancy a chance at better seats, fast track bar service, parking etc, all demand a premium more money for club, we need to move on from pound shop mentality

If the club had a budget of over £2.5 million last season, yet the introduction of the EFL salary cap is £1.5 million, then I really would question the need to increase Season Ticket prices at present. Perhaps if we were going into League 1 and the cap was £2.5 once again, there could be some justification for a modest increase. If the stadium was our own, then you could see the benefits going into an upgrade over and above the maintenance style work that takes place now, then fine, but otherwise I see no pressing need.
