Sorry Bronco, I wasn't particularly referring to the remainder of this season. I was looking ahead for a way forward beyond that if it is still deemed unsafe for at risk groups to attend mass gatherings

That depends on what we're trying to achieve. If the controls that are put into place are about minimizing transmission, that's one thing. and that should mean that any gatherings over a certain size are banned, regardless of age. If the approach is based more on isolating the vulnerable and over 70s to protect their own health, then I think its a case of making sure everyone is informed and then allowed to make their own decisions.

Personally, I detest the idea that we'd have games that some fans are allowed to, but not others. That goes against everything that the game should be about, and the ONLY thing that's made City games worthwhile for most of our recent history has been the opportunity for multiple generations of my family yo come together, go and have a couple of pints and then watch the game. I'd rather play them behind closed doors and let no one in.

And don't worry about your time and money. The paper rounds will be up and running again soon enough....

Ok, I think if football goes in to the government with we want all fans at grounds that's not going to happen. Something has to give and for me the over 70's due to them in the biggest risk.

Fans are unlikely to return until next year unless clubs can make a case to the government.

However, in truth the EFL have to do more to help div 1 &. Div 2 because if we carry on with everyone thinking about themselves-'government, fans, owners, EFL and PFA then some div 1 and dive 2 club she including ours will go into administration

That's purely selfish intent though. Your interest isn't in the over 70s and their health, you just see it as a means to keep the crowds lower and increase your chances of getting in.

No, I will get in. I am young enough.

I see it as they're in the higher risk category and a case has to made that they won't be there due to their own wellbeing.

Before one starts to worry about 20/21 season tickets getting this season finished or cancelled is the main thing.

At this moment it's all pie in the sky.

Half our team has not been arsed all season, so why would half of them bother to put in any effort for us post June if the season is extended when they will be out of contract.

Other than you, has anybody with any relevance in determining the future of English football said anything at all about limiting the age of football fans going to the game if and when the current lockdown is eased?

I'm asking because I was wondering if I've missed something here.

    Hmmm no!

However, Sky Sports are reporting many will go into Admin this week if situations are not sorted with wages and fans.

    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11095/11973696/several-efl-clubs-days-away-from-going-bust-amid-wage-dispute

Unless the EFL can make a case for fans to return then many clubs will be in trouble unless the EFL cover the gate revenue for clubs. It should cost the EFL approx 40m to do that based on average crowd per league.

The PFA said div 1 & 2 clubs players would defer 25% now players are kicking off.

So back to my over 70's. They are the highest risk and need protecting. Football and live sport will have to show they're doing what they can to protect people and for me follow South Korea in banning the elderly from gatherings such as transport etc.

Thought not. It's simply your view that this should happen. I wonder why the logic of it has been missed by every football administrator involved with every governing body in football and every football club in all of the leagues? And why have you simply focused on the over 70's for your hypothesis?

I might start another campaign and ban all 'young supporters', a group you appear to associate yourself with, from football grounds for the protection of everybody else. Why? Statistically they are the biggest danger to all other fans at football grounds. Statistically, they bring in more pyrotechnics into the ground and statistically they are involved in more breaches of ground regulations for crowd violence, encroaching on the pitch etc. Statistically they have had more banning orders. That's just as valid as wanting to ban the over 70's because statistically if they are infected with Covid 19 and have it serious enough to be admitted to hospital for treatment and their condition worsens so have to be admitted to an ICU, they are at the greatest risk of not pulling through. Well strictly speaking, not as high a risk as the over 75's or the over 80's or the over 85's but slightly higher than the over 65's!

At some point football will return but unless there is a vaccine I won’t be there and it pains me to say so. I have bought my season ticket and would have done anyway. As for banning certain age groups it’s unworkable it’s up to individuals if they want to risk it. But remember younger people are less at risk if they are in good health but they can spread the virus and cause it to get out/of control again.

Thats how it should be Park, your choice, not as Fordy suggests, a blanket ban for over 70's. I dont know why he is intent on winding up the over 70's

I'm in the "over 70's" group too and to be quite honest, even with the lockdown, I've got used to no football.
Do I miss it? In all honesty no (not yet anyway!), I quite like not having my weekends ruined by that lot at Valley Parade.

Neither am I missing all the prima donna's of the Premier League. I don't miss all the play acting, going down holding their faces when caught on the elbow etc etc.

The peace, even stuck at home, is heaven!!

I think the club should suspend fordys season ticket as he has threatened to do his nut with over 70's.

Ps does anyone have a number or address for Liverpool fc so I can let them know what he intends to do.

So have you composed a ‘Business Plan’, in which you set out your proposals about age restrictions, the early restart of live football, and submitted it to the EFL? To assist you here is a link! https://www.efl.com/contact-form/

As there was little to do today I trolled through you tube and saw an 18 minute video clip of the 1974 "Charity Shield" saw little charity in the clip, have a watch and see how the powers that be are making it into a non contact sport, even the two managers sat together in the dug out Cloughy & Shankley having a bit of banter then at the end a penalty shoot out, with players joking with each other.
Hard game in those days but far more respect for the referee.

I am missing my Saturdays at Valley Parade now. From meeting up with family for pre match pint, to yes, the actual games.

I will miss the cricket this summer, i cannot imagine a summer without Test match cricket. Hopefully they will manage a series late summer?

I will also miss the Horse racing classics in May and June if not resumed by then

Now that Fordy is pushing for the banning of over 70s. His next move probably will be the banning of adults over 4’ 10” with an acceptable average of 4 foot

There is talk of condensing the cricket internationals by having two distinct England teams playing at same time, or on opposite days eg Test match finish and then one day straight after
