Good Morning Fordy I understand your views on 70 year olds but possibly dont agree. Let's not forget a lot of 70 year olds attended gyms go swimming and walking many activities and keep rather fit. I think you are trying to rule the roost.

I'd love to see fordy doing his nut at a supporter who's over 70 and for them to sit him on his arse now that would brighten my day up.

I will happily renew my season ticket, if it allows me to watch the matches at home because, until an effective vaccine is developed, that is where I will be stuck. It's not what I wanted, but it is what it is.

Now that would be very amusing! :)

And on a serious issue, even without the over 70's being allowed into VP, I'd like to know from Professor @Fordy117@Fordy117 how any football ground would enforce the 2m separation rule for everybody else? In the MR where I would usually sit, that would involve at least every other row being empty or more realistically 2 rows in 3 being empty with fans then leaving 3 empty seats between each other. That's an awful lot of empty seats and suggests around 3,000 fans being allowed into VP .. unless the 2m separation rule is removed. And that would be an incredible risky decision by the Govt at this stage. With those number, I can understand why playing the rest of the season in empty stadiums might be the only way forward.

    Professor Fordy is here :)

I think playing behind closed doors is the only way to finish the season and start a next. I don't believe crowds will return this year in grounds.

Social distancing 2m separation can't last forever though. It's nearly impossible when you think about.
We will have to go to a herd immunity soon it would seem.

They will have to come a time when crowds are allowed to sporting events and I wouldn't have over 70's at mass gatherings until a vaccine. This virus is killing mostly old people and we have to protect them.

Boxing, darts will can't be played without a crowd and again no over 70's with temperature testing when entering and you've to show some sort in ID to highlight you've recovered from the virus. Something has to be figured out or you end up killing the live sporting industry.

Yeah, no gyms or swimming for over 70's until vaccine.

Unfortunately, people are going to have to give somethings up for a while.

Yes, you might be correct on this one. People are going to have to give something up for a while ....

I have a suggestion for something you can give up for a long while :)

:) You would miss me. I can't give it up.

I'm giving up midget parties though, until a vaccine is found.

So how are you going to ‘Police’ this? Are you in favour of the introduction of Identity Cards which has a large date of birth displayed, and which would have to be shown to the turnstile operators(behind their PPE Shield, before entry is allowed? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_identity_card_(France)

    Yes mate, something like this.

This is a serious debate when you think about it because the government won't want to kill off live sport but it can't operate just showing your ticket anymore.

The anti body testing could be the key to see if you have had the virus before and recovered then stamped with no over 70's allowed at mass gatherings.

No there will be no mass gatherings until a vaccine is developed.maybe it is older people most at risk but it’s an awful illness to others and gatherings like football crowds will start spreading it again

    They'll be mate.

    Boxing, darts count on it.

    Basketball, American football.

A spread of the virus is going to happen. You do understand that the world wide lock down is to slow down the spread and to give countries time to build hospitals, get more test equipment etc. It's not to stop the virus because we don't have a vaccine to do that.

People are going to go back to work and restaurants will be open.

So, back to the point. ID cards for enter mass gatherings and restaurants etc will have to come into play. No over 70's.

I think this question weaves into what is decided for the 19/20 ?. If that carrys on behind closed doors then the club will either have to give season ticket holders free access on Ifollow ? or if its cancelled make some concessions on 20/21 tickets ?. My advice would be to wait until the situation is made clear. At the moment I am "in pocket" to the tune of five home games. Its up to the club to tell us how they intend to sort this out (led by the EFL granted) before i start shelling more brass out when we dont know what 20/21 will look like or even if it will start in a normal sense. Say they restrict the crowd and you can only attend limited gsmes ? Why would you want to pay for a full season ? Its all a,complete mess.

Heres a thought going forward. Over 70s, disabled, at risk groups etc. Allowed to access ifollow for all games, home and away including Saturdays. For a fee of course. I know it can't replace the matchday atmosphere but its keeps at risk groups safe. Obvious downside is abuse by the same sort of people who are fitter than me but still seem to have a disabled parking permit

Jeez. Behind closed doors - are footballers immune then?

Also, I won't be shelling out £300 for the two of us until I've got a clue how this is going to pan out. Yes it's my club, but if things were to go belly-up then my money might have disappeared into our owner's already deep (but securely fastened) pocket. Fordy's right (there, I said it :(), Mr Rupp can afford to keep City ticking over if he wants to (it's been a crap investment but it was his choice).

I kind of see a way forward. Do we have 12000 season ticket holders ?. Right I agree over 70s and most vunerable are temporarily barred from Valley Parade under wider Health & Safety grounds. The instruction is made from Government. In return for being excluded they given free access to Ifollow or TV. Then the rest of us say its 10000 can attend alternate home games. So max home crowd is 5000 to begin with; when its your turn to miss you watch it free on Ifollow. Obviously there are no Away fans allowed to attend at VP. I think thats an acceptable way forward for the time being. 5000 fans in and around VP is not a million miles from the "norm" in the mid 90s so its not unimaginable.

I cannot imagine McCall will have a decent playing budget by the end of May with the current situation.
I will e-mail the club sometime in that month asking if the deadline will be put back to the summer.
City and the rest haven't even finished this season yet, so they owe us some games!

If 20-21 season goes ahead but with less games then there is a reduction in the season ticket?
Or dont be so bloody silly.
