Well considering the Government wasn't doing much in Jan and Feb hence why we are in this mess. I don't see anything wrong with them helping out sport.

Correct me if I am wrong but the government have given rugby league 16m.

The facts are crowds are not going to be allowed for a very long time and clubs in the football league can not afford to play behind closed dooors. And Doyle is right testing should be for those that need it not footballers at the moment anyway. I would love to start watching football again soon but it’s not practical

Doyle's views are unimportant. He is an ex-player doing sterling work on helping to distribute food to deserving causes at the moment but currently with no skin in the game. The decisions on the format of future games and their timing and location will be determined not by Doyle, not by the FA, not by the EFL but by the PL and the TV broadcasters. That's what matters to the big clubs. They'll do whatever it takes to ensure that their outstanding Sky revenues aren't lost because they didn't deliver on their part of the broadcasting contracts. There is too much money at stake for them to worry about the impact on other aspects of the football sector. Yes, if it requires neutral grounds, shortened games, more stoppages, more subs etc, the PL and the PL clubs will sign up to that if it helps to protects THEIR income.

Palace Chairman on sky now basically saying clubs will have no income coming in after August and the same things will happen that will happen now if next season and we need to get the season going such as neutral grounds and says players will get the virus. All are true

I agree the PL are a test bed and if/when the game restarts that's how it will be for all leagues.

Testing now is available to all front line and key workers in this country.

Bottom line is no vaccine and all industries will have to change.

Football has to play, it has no money coming in.

The PL is the umbrella and if no money coming in then it doesn't come down to the EFL.

Doyle isn't right at all. Shocked that you even think he is because if VP was open on Saturday for game day, you would be the first person there.

No, the government have not given Rugby League £16m. It is a loan so presumably at some point it has to be paid back.

Still a loan from the government mate.

Look, I have nothing against that and the game urgently needed it but body will have to help out football soon.

Edit.. seems like Rick Perry the head of EFL is talking to the government now. Trying to get money it seems.

All div 1-2 clubs have been ask to provide their accounts(estimates) for the next 2-3 months.

The game is in serious trouble in this country.

No mate, I said this season needs to happen or next season doesn't happen and everything said by Rick Parry and the Palace owner backs that up along with a non league Chairman who says they won't be any non league.

A 200m hole in the EFL is massive and I don't care what anyone says I am not convinced Mr Rupp will continue to back a loss making business.

@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler gone in awol this morning but he knows that Bradford will be in deep, deep trouble if football does demonstrate how the game will look like as a package asap. Clubs have no cash flow coming in from August.

However, no relegation from the PL doesn't work and puts the EFL under more pressure.

In truth the game in this country is a mess. You have salary cap nonsense talk in league 1-2 , pl bottom 6 wanting no relegation.

I'm getting like @Faithful Bantam@Faithful Bantam in sacking the game off the more moaning I hear. Just get on with the game because next season isn't happening if we don't and if it doesn't then wait until a vaccine then spend 12/18 months getting a grip.

Not sure you really need a vaccine. You need to get the infection rate really low and test and track and trace and isolate cases that develop. Much like they do with a legionnaires outbreak or salmonella etc. Problem is we don’t have many track and trace officers in local authorities due to cuts and this disease is highly contagious. But I can be done with the correct funding and training. It is something we have to look to as surely that is cheaper than locking the country down for months on end

The Goverment are saying there is going to be social distancing for at least 12 months. The unions are unhappy about the arrangements being put forward for discussion for getting the country back to work. The premiership will go its own way. But the football league clubs are not going to play anytime soon. So in my opinion in order for clubs to survive the PFA are going to have to allow redundancy for their members so that clubs can cut their overheads down to a minimum so they can keep afloat till the situation is ünder control.

The Government and government alone will decide , the PL and EFL can come up with any " scheme " it wants if the government says no thats it end of story . Until Football in general except this and enter into constructive talks with ALL clubs and health officials it will just go on and on . Void the season now . Try to get a proper plan in place for next season , the 20/21 season should be written off in order to have a hope of a 21/22 competition .

Just a word of caution about vaccines being seen as the ‘Holy Grail’ in all this. This is included in a WHO comment about vaccinations, ‘First, no vaccine is 100% effective. To make vaccines safer than the disease, the bacteria or virus is killed or weakened (attenuated). For reasons related to the individual, not all vaccinated persons develop immunity. Most routine childhood vaccines are effective for 85% to 95% of recipients’.
I would add that in respect of Flu, then this is lifted from a scientific journal, ‘Based on data from 4112 children and adults, vaccine effectiveness was estimated to be 37% against influenza A and 50% against influenza B viruses’.
So to put it bluntly there is no certainty that vaccination will provide immunity, and it is not necessarily a panacea for all the ills of coronavirus.

Vaccines have driven many diseases of the past to almost extinction such as polio And others
