It's better to have it than not. I remember diphtheria, smallpox etc when I was a child, even measles was a killer but vaccines sorted them out, I agree if won't help everyone, but no vaccine does

Yes no vaccine will ensure that no one is vulnerable. If you look at the common cold, then despite years of research to create a vaccine, it has not been achieved.

Despite the availability of the anti flu vaccine in the UK, then ‘Public Health England estimates that on average 17,000 people have died from the flu in England annually between 2014/15 and 2018/19. However, the yearly deaths vary widely from a high of 28,330 in 2014/15 to a low of 1,692 in 2018/19. Public Health England does not publish a mortality rate for the flu’, when comparing with the current coronavirus epidemic figures, then they will include all four countries.

Without sounding all anti-vaccine here I wouldn’t want to be one of the first ones to get the vaccine. What are the side effects? Like I said earlier I’d take my chances with COVID19 thanks.
Here you go you’re immune from coronavirus but your hair is now falling out and you’re covered in boils for the rest of your life.
I’ll take my chance and see how it goes for others thanks

Completely agree. I'm not having a go at Doyle for what he said in that article because I think he makes a lot of excellent points but I cringe everytime I hear someone say "let's just wait for a vaccine" like it will automatically just pop up round the corner.

Theres no guarantee there will even be a vaccine so in the mean time we have to find some way of bringing real life back in all settings and we can't just bitch and moan because the ideas are imperfect or not as good as "normal" life. It's okay to be scared and to want resources put in the right place in terms of tests and health staff but we can't just all sit in a bubble waiting for a vaccine that might never come or might not work 100%.

Well i'm waiting for the second wave to come before venturing out. But when that comes i might have to wit for the third wave. Probably a fourth one. I'll wait till 2036 before getting a season ticket.

Paid for my season ticket when first came out and have an email receipt, Usually in previous seasons I get a ticket counterfoil in the post to collect season ticket when they are ready if needed but so far have got nothing from the club, Just wondering if other season ticket purchasers have received anything from the club?

Just like you Trevor I renewed when they first came out and got the e-mail confirmation.
I presume they'll let us know (via the club website) when they're ready for collection.
I think last season we had quote our Customer Number.

I’ve not had anything. I did however email the ticket office yesterday with a question regarding next seasons ST’s. Basically will the purchase still be valid (don’t want a refund) as I’ve selected the two seats and don’t want to have to mess about re applying. Had a reply within a couple of hours from Mick Lamb confirming that any tickets purchased before they were taken off sale would still be valid whenever the season starts up. Have to say I’ve always found the ticket office to be great with comms

    Valid? What a mess!

How would it be valid? At this moment fans won't be allowed in the ground.

If it's valid then why stop the season ticket sale?

Also if the club has plans for something I don't see why you should benefit over anyone that was planning to buy their season ticket before the deadline date.

Only thing you'll be watching down at VP in the forseeable future is the grass growing (in places)...!!

Madness that people think that they will be down at VP soon.

In all fairness to @Fordy117@Fordy117 I also can’t see supporters going to watch a game ‘soon’! The EFL have decided to wind up League 2 for this season. As next season is not due to start until 3rd August, then clearly that is some time in the future.

I agree. What I was saying in response to Fordy was that I cant see anyone saying on here or elsewhere that we will be at VP soon, in fact its quite the opposite..

The most sensible scenario is to look to start the season at the beginning of October. Scrap the Carabao Cup and Leasing Trophy. Finish the League on the 15th May, Play Off Semis 18th & 22nd May, with the Final on the 29th May. Completed before the Euros 2021 are due to start in June. Job is a good one!

Hi Tony regarding the grass growing at first look the photo on twitter at the moment looks good but if you enlarge the image you can see copiase amounts of sand ridges.
I'm no turf expert but would like to see more grass after no action on it.
