I’ve said before that I think that regardless of a Wembley final it will still be a very hard sell to a certain section of the fan base.
We’ve had the tired slogans and the cheesy videos before.
    Where’s it got us?
We are still 18th in lge 2.
Which is actually 3 places below where we were when RS uttered his immortal Martin Luther King esque “we don’t accept mediocrity” nonsense.

Thousands of fans will renew due to loyalty, cost, ease of the DD option etc..
    It’s what we do.
    It’s our club.
We support through thick and thin.

Will the undecided, wavering fans who’ve only recently started, and beside a little glimmer last season, have seen some quite abject performances,be taken in again?

    Im not so sure.

How will boycotting a game I have already paid for affect the club? People are already doing that. And regarding not renewing a ST well who can blame people for not being interested anymore. The product that we are paying for is Ratners standard.
You may be happy with how the club is being run but I am not. Something has to be done to wake Rupp out of his silence and get him to front up to the fans with his vision for the club. Or if he doesn't have one other than getting his investment back, then sell and move aside to let someone who does have a vision take us forward.

Clubs compete in this division on all sorts of levels. Whether that's the quality of the squad, the manager, the tactics and so on and particularly on the playing budget. Any manager worth his salt would prefer a bigger budget to a smaller one. Our budget has remained static over the past few years and despite our crowds, other clubs have overtaken us where it matters; on the pitch and in the league table. Other clubs for whatever reason, put more money into their playing budget. Some clubs (and that's plural) according to Sparks have playing budgets almost 50% more than ours and at any level of pro football that's a serious advantage for those clubs. Without competing at that level, we will remain second best on the pitch.

I remain convinced that our vision, if we even had one, as welcomed by Rupp and his CEO is to simply balance the books rather than investing in the future of the club, particularly the playing side. Meanwhile they wait for somebody to come in and buy us at an inflated price. Their approach has to change if we are ever to get out of the khazi league. That's one of the reasons why I support the new Independent Supporters Group. They want to change things for the better and unlike some others, not accept the status quo.

I lost faith last season when I was expecting a top two squad and we barely scraped into the playoffs. That was despite an increase in ST sales. I don’t like being misled, I prefer honesty, then we can tackle whatever is in front of us as a club. You can’t just sit there and let the club crumble around you while you wait for a buyer.

I'd question the credibility of that since none of it agrees with Sparks words in his interview in the Athletic. In it he said that our budget was £2.8mill for this season. I suggest you check on their website the source of the salary & wages costs they quote. They refer to them as their own estimates and not factual.

We were supposed to have a leaner Squad but because of injuries and other things it hasn’t worked out that way. I think they have spent more than intended without finding success

It's the emotional investment over the years that has drained me, foolishly believing the spin, mainly my fault I know. I said at the beginning of the season my expectations were lowering. But I had n't anticipated how far they would go. Unfortunately as others have pointed out history shows we are just a bang average lower division club with a few anomalous peaks here and there, and I fear the time of big crowds with expectations are now on the outward ebb.

For those of us still attending next season lets hope whatever comes out of the supporters group helps, and fingers crossed, like the other 20 or so L2 bang average Club fans will be doing, that our manager can work miracles within whatever player budget is allocated.:sob:

Will ticket price have a large bearing on this.
Remain the same or increase with a bigger budget for player recruitment.
I still think we are not far off, if only we could keep Walker and Pattinson fit.
I will re-new and pay what is asked.
If the price stays the same, how about fans putting extra in to the supporters board to raise a fighting fund, to see what we as a collective can achieve. 10000 adults an extra £50- £500,000 is a good start . if we had done this the past 10 years, we would have a fund well over £5 million and a great sum to possibly purchase the stadium.

I will buy tickets for my wife and myself.Thats it.

Once again ( I’ve stated it on numerous occasions) I won’t put any extra in to the club while our owners wealth is at a level everybody on here can only dream about.
We don’t know his asking price, but if it’s what has been bandied about then I’m not using my family’s hard earned to get him a massive profit on his outlay.
Especially after what has been 9 years of steady regression and has brought us to where we find ourselves now.

    Thats just me.
I wouldn’t knock anybody else for doing it but it’s a big fat no from me.

The money would not go to the club, It would be a supporters fund to look at options. Own the stadium and the football club becomes our tenant, Rents could then be set at a level more viable and used to help improve the stadium in whatever way we wish. not line the coffers of Gibbs pension fund, or any other very wealthy individual.

The theme behind this blog , is fans are unhappy at how the club is being run under Rupp's ownership.
We have to explore all options , to see what we as a collective can do.
That is the only way i can see any change occuring in the near future.

This was mooted previously and as much as I admire fans like yourself looking at things to progress the clubs, the financial, legal and logistical aspects that were talked about make it a virtual non starter.

It may be beyond our means, but if we had some cash , at least it could be properly explored.

I've previously said that I won't renew if Rupp and Sparks are still here next year and I still think that is what I shall do. If the supporters initiative reaps any tangible change, however, then I might reconsider. But I'm not holding my breath.
