I thought he was very hit and miss for us (though obviously had great potential). Clarke and Walsh have already been mentioned but Schwarzer and Henderson were pretty good too

Deluded if you think Bowyer and Klopp are now somehow bosom buddies because of a friendly.

Can Paudie be classed as a successful loan? He barely played last season and apart from a great reputation and some very solid performances at the back end of last season, I don’t think his loan can be classed as successful. However his signing could be colossal for our future, let’s see.

I’d add Andrew Davies to that list above. If Paudie can come in and have half the impact Davies did, we have indeed made a great signing. Perhaps the success of Paudies loan will be determined by his long term success a full time City player?

Shame there is no chance bringing back lewis o'brien, signed a new contract in july and part of huddersfield's squad.

Pickford is my example for the sort of City fan who makes a decision about a player based on a couple of errors in his first few games and will then never, ever change their mind on that once they've nailed their colours to the mast, no matter how good they are after that.

Pickford was, in my opinion of course, our best shot stopper since Matt Clarke and had the best distribution since Schwarzer. And yes he dropped a couple of crosses in the first game or two cos he tried to take the ball in the air as a small lad and got bundled over by huge experienced cloggers. He very quickly learned to punch it and punch it properly... I'd say it actually says a lot positive about his mental attitude that he used the experience to make him stronger.

    Spot on.

Also show me a keeper that has never dropped a cross or dropped a cross whilst in his younger playing days when learning/playing the game.

It's usually more a case of all the financials having two different fees. if there is a loan fee it will be one amount if they play a certain number of games in the season but a higher amount if they don't. And on the wages, they will contribute a certain percentage of the players wages if they play in a game that took place that week and a higher percentage if they were left out of the squad (with provisions in place where if the team doesn't have a match that week or the player is injured the lower fee is whats paid)
