Has anyone seen anything from GB on this subject?
The club has a brilliant record and history when you look at our most recent young players arriving on season long loans from top clubs.
    Jason Pickford
    Josh Cullen
    Reece Burke
    Lewis O'brien
    Lee Evans
    Adam Reach
    Paudie O'Connor

All the above and more I'm sure will be looked at as huge successes for the lads themselves and their parent clubs.
I would be delighted with a few similar players if GB has a positive view on the subject.
Most of the lads have benefited from playing in front of our crowds and we must therefore be seen as a destination
of choice for top clubs when allowing their coming stars to get game time in the the EFL.

Problem is these days with long loans, the bigger clubs want guarantees they will play and if you don’t you are fined.

Sometimes it becomes counter productive to get them in unless they are very good.

I believe Gary Bowyer has a reasonable track record bringing in loan signings, including taking England international Michael Keane to Blackburn and Manchester United £50 million target Sean Longstaff to Blackpool.

Bowyer had Longstaff at Blackpool a couple of seasons ago but any deals like that aren't likely to go through until after our season has started as Premier League teams are still getting players back from Copa America and ACON so they'll be waiting on them to come back and get match fit before loaning players out.

That was a myth spouted by Abbott to justify our embarrassing January recruitment. That rule isn't applicable to the majority of loans.

Fined? Is that an official thing or club to club? Seems very bizarre.

We're bottom tier rather than third tier now. Championship player loans probably . If any.

Maybe fined is not the right word but Liverpool are one of a number of clubs who make you pay if you don’t play them. Doesn’t matter if you’ve got the money but for a limited budget has to be considered

Dont see Championship players as loans an issue, as long as you obviously get the right ones.
Tyker Walker (Des' son) got in the EFL Team of the Year for Mansfield having been on loan from Forest scoring over 20 goals

If you are on Twitter then follow the Accrington owner Andy Holt and the Posh owner and they are saying the exact same as what Abbott said and if not only get asked to pay their full wages and a big loan fee but get fined if they don't play x% of games like we would have done with Miller last season if it wasn't for him being sold to Barnsley.
As an example of one from a couple of weeks ago Posh got quoted 250k loan fee plus wages plus paying for a nice hotel plus an assistant for a young premier league player. https://twitter.com/Richb1169/status/1150800626521169922

If we are talking players of the quality in the opening post from the premiership then they will have that clause in. No doubt.

If they are Seedorf quality then we will just contribute towards wages and he will play as and when. But in that case what’s the point as they add nothing.

Surely we will be looking a good youth player from Liverpool.

No doubt Klopp and Bowyer formed links.

A nice list who all did well but we could easily receive a Mason Bennett, Kevin Toner, Haris Vuckic, Sherwin Seedorf or George Miller too. Im sure there are more bluffers we have had as well.

Prefer to try and develop our own youth. L2 is the place to bed them in.

Why any PL side would loan players to league 2 is a concern. Only kids who need toughening up. Any decent ones will surely be positioned higher up the leagues.

That's a fair response but on what scale does this actually occur? O'Connor, Miller, Seedorf were all young players brought in from higher up and occupied the bench for large parts of their stint here, were we paying fines for all of them? What about Tom Field and Luke Hendrie the year before? Or Gilliead, Vuckic, Toner the year before that?

If we had to pay fines, wage increases and mammoth loan fees for benching them we'd either have seen more of them play or not brought them in at all as such consequences simply aren't feasible for lower league clubs running a tight budget.

I've seen more than enough evidence both at Bradford City and throughout the football league to suggest that there are plenty loan options available without such stipulations in place. If a club tries to place unreasonable conditions upon us then we move on and find one that doesn't. A nothing issue that doesn't seem to have prevented us from signing loan players in the past.

Think it's down to the individual loan agreement between the 2 clubs. There are examples of both to be honest. Given we had too many loaners for the match day squad last season so someone was always going to miss out so if we were being 'fined' for every loaner then we would have been every week.

I don’t see a problem with what they are doing. It’s their player and they are sending him out to get first team playing experience. Training and coaching etc will be better at their club
