Good.
How good is it to hear clubs asking for the club to be extended, rather than stopped, halted, postponed, whatever else.
What a breath of fresh air that is.
Said it before, I couldn't give a toss about the Euros, rather fans just boycotted it.

All EFL playoff finals are schedule for Wembley 29-31st May.
The Euros start on 11th June, with the first game at Wembley on the 13th.
So there is at least a 10 day gap. If this shorter turnaround causes problems for Wembley Stadium then it is surely possible to move the playoffs to another stadium.
There can only be very few players at LG1/2 level who may go the Euros so this shouldn't really be a factor.
UEFA, if they have any common sense, shouldn't really have an issue with this. We aren't asking to extend the EPL season.
Finally, the gap between 2nd legs of playoff semis and the final is usually 10-12 days to allow for ticket sales and this is build into the current calendar. Perfectly reasonable to extend the season an extra 5 days and then reduce the gap between the semis and the final.
So there you go, there is a 2 week window without even impacting the Euros. How, Wolfysmith, Briggus and 1 other person like this. -
I can’t believe that UEFA are going to lose too much sleep over Forest Green v Salford or Newport v Scunthorpe taking too much of an audience share if the season is extended and it clashes with the Euros. Most people in England will struggle to point to those four teams on a map let alone the viewers across Europe and the RoW. With Covid there has to be a degree of pragmatism from all.

I can't see many, if any, L1 and L2 players being called up to EURO squads, so extending the season seems a no brainer. The Championship may have a few call ups, but you'd imagine there won't be as many postponements.
If UEFA need Wembley I'm sure play-off finals can be moved, we're hardly lacking stadiums.Bronco, Storck and Keefly Bantam like this. -

Don't see the problem extending the season a couple of weeks.
Makes sense to me.RCarol and Idlebantam like this. -

After the bad winter of 1963 the season was extended and City's final fixture was on 17th May.
Of course in those days television didn't dictate when matches were played. -

Player safety has to be paramount and cramming so many games into the current season end is going to cause a lot of injuries making squad rotation even harder as time goes by.
Leagues 1+2 are not going to have more than a few -if any at all- players potentially being included in the Euros-so at least let these leagues extend a week or 2 and play any play off final at a ground suitably sized to accommodate the expected crowd. I am no expert in these matters, but if I am hearing it right. The evil football super rich powers and their shadowy TV oligarch counterparts are forging ahead with their dastardly master plans, despite terrorist threats, soaring heat in a never heard of until now country, and a little thing called COVID, to get their evil ways and host dark-side sporting events, and stop the EFL extending the season and playing all its games, and to achieve their ultimate cowardly masterplan, to sink BCFC into oblivion.
We must get the PFA to employ its undercover trained agents against this plot now, and to awaken its assassin sleepers in the UEFA and world-wide governments, that is what I say.

I'm very doubtful the Euro's will even go ahead. There's a massive disparity between countries in terms of vaccination roll-outs, with us ahead of the curve. Plus you've got to factor in mutations, such as we've already seen coming from Brazil & South Africa. There's strict travel bans because of these mutations, which appear to be more resistant to the current set of vaccines. If another one comes along in the summer, I can't see border controls being lifted.
Given that current Champions League games are being switched to neutral venues, it's going to have to take a massive turnaround in events to see this going ahead without fans, never mind encouraging hundreds of thousands of football fans roam around the continent.Stop hovering to collapse... They is apparently plans that they may reduce countries maybe with extra cities in each country being given matches or even it moving to a single countryStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Storck likes this. -
Just can the Euros for the summer.
Money talks though doesn't it. It will go ahead and bugger the Football league and lower levels in each respective country. How likes this. -
