    Good.

How good is it to hear clubs asking for the club to be extended, rather than stopped, halted, postponed, whatever else.

What a breath of fresh air that is.

Said it before, I couldn't give a toss about the Euros, rather fans just boycotted it.

Don't see the problem extending the season a couple of weeks.
    Makes sense to me.

I'm very doubtful the Euro's will even go ahead. There's a massive disparity between countries in terms of vaccination roll-outs, with us ahead of the curve. Plus you've got to factor in mutations, such as we've already seen coming from Brazil & South Africa. There's strict travel bans because of these mutations, which appear to be more resistant to the current set of vaccines. If another one comes along in the summer, I can't see border controls being lifted.
Given that current Champions League games are being switched to neutral venues, it's going to have to take a massive turnaround in events to see this going ahead without fans, never mind encouraging hundreds of thousands of football fans roam around the continent.

The problem is the Euros. These are not going to get cancelled and can’t be pushed back a year because of the World Cup (As many leagues are needing to start early due to the 2022 World Cup taking place not in the summer but in Nov/Dec. They will not allow a member FA to run leagues during the event and even if they did some teams even in league 2 might have players away on international duty. You can’t even push the Euros back a month because then it clashes with the Olympics which will also see players going off to play in that ad would also delay the start of next season which again as mentioned before is a problem as the 22/23 season has to start early

They don’t particularly need the fans, most of UEFA money from it comes from TV and sponsorship which totally cancelling it they lose out on. They will hold it no matter what, certainly not across as many countries as was planned, maybe even in a single country. They may even push matches back a week so that teams can go into a proper quarantine first and then catch up by adding an extra match each day they won’t cancel it

Oh and I voted no on the poll because there isn’t a question. In an ideal world I would like the seasons extended but there is no room in the calendar to do so so it’s not happening

I really can't see any justification for the Euros to go ahead, apart from TV rights and that's not the right kind of justification, ditto the Olympics. Scrap them early and lets move on. An alternative would be to play them in 2022 and put the world cup back to 2023 but that won't happen

All EFL playoff finals are schedule for Wembley 29-31st May.
The Euros start on 11th June, with the first game at Wembley on the 13th.

So there is at least a 10 day gap. If this shorter turnaround causes problems for Wembley Stadium then it is surely possible to move the playoffs to another stadium.
There can only be very few players at LG1/2 level who may go the Euros so this shouldn't really be a factor.
UEFA, if they have any common sense, shouldn't really have an issue with this. We aren't asking to extend the EPL season.

Finally, the gap between 2nd legs of playoff semis and the final is usually 10-12 days to allow for ticket sales and this is build into the current calendar. Perfectly reasonable to extend the season an extra 5 days and then reduce the gap between the semis and the final.

So there you go, there is a 2 week window without even impacting the Euros.

Where are the Euros currently planned to be? Is it split over a few countries? And if so can footballers actually get into them countries without quarantining

At the moment it’s still taking place between

    Rome
    Baku
    Copenhagen
    St.Petersburg
    Amsterdam
    Bucharest
    London
    Glasgow
    Bilbao
    Dublin
    Munich

They is apparently plans that they may reduce countries maybe with extra cities in each country being given matches or even it moving to a single country

The EFL will be extended in my opinion more games will be called off in the next few months and it’s a 46 game season. Can’t speak for the Premier League they probably won’t, but common sense needs to find a way in the EFL

If fans aren't allowed in or numbers are restricted come the end of the May, then does it matter where the play-offs take place? Any ground will do as long it's a neutral venue.

Just can the Euros for the summer.

Money talks though doesn't it. It will go ahead and bugger the Football league and lower levels in each respective country.

Absolutely no chance the euros will be moved to accommodate lower league English football.
Season won't be extended and we will be expected to complete the season, with a caring statement from the EFL.

Without that TV money UEFA are going to have a massive cash issue, they are already down massively. There is already talk CL/EL money will be cut which mean PL have less money and that’s going to have a knock on effect for you as well.

After the bad winter of 1963 the season was extended and City's final fixture was on 17th May.
Of course in those days television didn't dictate when matches were played.

The euros and tv contracts will mean that the season won't be extended.

If it is extended then Bradford City and other clubs will be losing out on a lot of money because the tv contract would have been broken.

Unless they reach an agreement with all parties. Don’t know if the EFL are capable of it.
