As Hopkin states, he will be almost like a new signing. Hopefully, a few weeks with McElhone and he will be fitter than ever, and tuned into the work ethos McElhone and Hopkin are creating. There is no doubt he has the talent, and should be a star at this level

 

No he won't be a new signing.. this is another thing that we need to stop with.. He will be a player returning from injury not match fit. I hope the club don't try and pass this off as a "new signing" and not sign another winger type player! As that just does not wash for me

 

With Scannell's injury record we would be mad to rely on him for our creativity despite all his ability.
We definitely need additional quality out wide this window.

 

Scannell showed nothing like the work rate or competitive nature of Payne - but then nobody did back then.

Judgement will be reserved, but Hopkin doesn't want to have to rely solely on a guy coming back early from injury imo.

 

I'm interested to see how he does PoED (Post Edin's Departure), could have a new lease of life like the rest of the squad.

 

Good player for this league but iv yet to see it . If Payne stays cant see him starting but great option off the bench .

 

For me done nothing before injury and don't expect much when he returns but happy to be proved wrong and have egg on my face.

 

Move on. Your like the wife who gets their divorce yet brings the ex-husband up in every conversation of how much better there life now is

 

I just like to point out how I was right all along.
my time for gloating hasn't passed yet.

 

If we can get him back fit and playing regularly he would be a big asset and could help fill the void if Payne departs.

 

Good player only trouble made of glass, good for two or three games then out for the next 4 or 5 with injury. It's a shame because he is certainly a very talented player

 

He certainly underwhelmed before his injury but then so did the whole squad except for LOB.
But there was one second half in a home game, I can't remember which one, when he was casting aside defenders like confetti. I remember thinking, 'Ah, that's why people have rated him'. If he can get back to that sort of performance, even as a bench option, he'd be a real asset.

 

Burton I believe he got MOM. Played well against Shrewbury on debut as well, but other than that little. Still think he's shown enough ability all about getting him fit and playing consistently imo.

 

He was better than most at the start of the season our only threat in most of the games

 

Thought he was the best of a very unfocused bunch and that include Payne

 

He would be even more like a new signing if could an 'i' on the end of his name.
