Platts a league two centre half inspector, I think you're being incredibly harsh by expecting him to contribute in an attacking sense.

I still laugh at that tackle sorry wrestle move he made when he sacked a player and not even a foul was given, the commentator called him Rory Mcrory

I believe Aston Villa allowed Paul McGrath to do similar to protect his knees.

Whats this, a new player praising our terrible its a school training facilities.
He felt it was easier to integrate , because the lads had a room to relax and play darts and snooker together.
Something they did not have at his last club.
Its a school for f--- sake.

Neither has Banks pr Phil Foden at Manchester City. But if you've got a winning team - that's how unfair footie life is.

In fairness to the canny Hughes, he is rightly sticking with the likely partnership for next season. Plus he is correct to show loyalty to Platt, who although I think is extremely limited at defending as cover for Halliday, hasn't done much wrong.

I agree Crichlow and Stubbs would be our best combination. Platt has done ok but we should play our best possible centre half pairing unless injury intervenes. For me this means Crichlow and Stubbs.

Not sure how we found him but I seem to remember one of his signing interviews saying going back home up North was a huge attraction, I still can't believe he's just 24!!

    It was Platt vs Grimsby.
But the point remains, centre halves and the goalkeeper between them conspiring to make life difficult.
At this end of the season, just get shut, no point taking these risks

I remember him playing for Exeter a few times. It was not until I looked into his family that I went he has great good pedigree. His dad was loved at Everton nuff said. And that Exeter visitor on here said keep him fit and we go up......

Sorry, of course it was Burnley. I'm mixing it up with the Bristol City/Middlesbrough game that was on before it.

It surprised me as well. According to Transfermarkt, he has 2 yellows; 1 against Newport and 1 against Grimsby. So it appears he didn't receive 1 against Sutton.

Agreed he's had a couple of dodgy moments but end of the day that's why he's a lower league defender, if he didn't have a couple blips he'd be playing much higher up. I really like the guy as he's exactly what we needed a big, hard and calm no nonsense defender.

Yep, get and see the McArdle comparison.

The mistakes aside (it happens and thankfully didn’t cost us) his long range passing in their first half yesterday was really impressive. He put two cross-field passes out to Chapman with his right foot which were top draw……….during the same time the commentary were debating whether he was right or left footed.
