Despite Crichlow nearly losing possession, he was determined to get the ball back. Watt’s attempt at trying to win the ball showed his inherent weakness that we all know….He can’t tackle! A massive weakness for a lad in the middle of the park.

I'll have to speak to Man City fans about if they get pissed off when Haaland only touches it 12 times a game yet nets a hat trick.

I'm wondering if they think he should be running more channels and banging in crosses for Phil Foden and Jack Grealish instead?

Our defenders never look like scoring from set pieces.
Not got the "get in where it hurts" mentality of Rory McArdle or Andrew Davies.

Surprised to see Perreira start. I don't think this is the game for him. He needs a performance and he has to show he's willing to impose himself on the game and not faff around the edges of it. He's been poor since he came back.

Salford try to play the same as us and it suits us the trouble we have is against high press physical teams one of which I think we will face next week

Good win today and a good way to put last week to bed with a hard working performance.

Thought Chapman was quality today if you give Watt time he will pick passes but Chapman dealt with him well and had to put a real shift in would have been richly deserved if he had managed to get a goal as well. Cook with another goal, Critchlow looking every bit a top loan signing and looks to be a good group.

Great to see the way the players interacted with the fans as well happy days are here again!

Like East, if you come into the team, play well and the team win then you're giving the manager a problem - fair play to both of them!

Crichlows contribution to this goal was probably his best in a City shirt so far.

Not just for picking up on Cook's run but making sure he won the 50/50 challenge with Watts his name.

It’s millions of pounds worth of debt miles away from us too, which we mustn’t forget either. Clubs either using parachute money, up, down, up , down. Then those that are in hoc to £millions chasing the £200 million dream of the Prem on borrowed money. It can be done but it’s far from easy.

Brilliant stuff from Crichlow there. Putting his foot in twice to win the ball and then a great little through ball. Brilliant.

Well for once my 'feeling' has proved correct. I thought Stockport would be a nightmare but I always thought a first win at Salford was on the cards.

So we're definitely in the promotion race. 'Squeaky bum' time for all us unti Game 46 :)

Excellent display today. Energy all over the pitch. Let's hope we've learned from last week. What we need to learn now is how to break down negativity by visiting teams at VP. If we can do that it looks very promising indeed.

Quite on here tonight, such a cool finish sticking it between the keepers legs. Cook made a great run off Leak, sorry son he's gone, he's done ya no good sticking your arm in the air asking for offside you played him on.

You're dead right about it being a meccano stadium - one of the worst in L2 and that's saying something. Totally soul-less gaffe.
Watt had alot of possession and played alot of passes. But like at City, nothing much that he did affected play or was incisive. Smallwood continues to be Father Superior, the guy who can not only turn matches with his decision making but perhaps as importantly, organize people around him and keep discipline on the pitch as captain when we're out of possession. So happy we have Richie - a player who does so much off the ball that alot of fans don't spot.
