it's a sad day when Harrogate and Salford have shown us the way forward with how to plan for success.. unfortunately, they are both everything we wish we were.

 

If they don’t sack SM very soon then I fear we’ll be non league next season

 

Turning a corner my arse. This squad is horrific.

 

Passion is fine, I'm all for that. Having to tell professionals footballers every 5 minutes where they should be on the pitch and who they should be marking or closing down I'm not as much of a fan of.

 

A manager who said he didn't want a large squad is trying to use the size of the squad as an excuse.

 

Playoffs

We'll be lucky to stay up. His delusion is dangerous.

Just look at where Luton were. Coventry and Wycombe, all now in the championship. Damn you Rhodes for selling this club to people who had the money but not a clue on how to run a club....

 

The police will laugh at you. It's more of a warning, stating that someone in the future might threaten you.
That's a long way from being a direct threat.
Perhaps people should calm down a bit. We've all had a sht day and tempers are a little high.

 

Performances since February have been no better than any manager since McCall left last time. If it wasn’t McCall the manager would be on borrowed time.
For all those bleating about stability, sacking the manager doesn’t work and not criticising the club. If successive managers have failed then those employed by the club need a long hard look at themselves for appointing those managers, for the infrastructure they have put in place and the culture they have set at the club. The club is dying a slow death and Rupp, Rahic and Rhodes have been in charge for the last four years.

 

Appalling

 

I don't even know where you start with it.

Half the team looks asleep, especially Wood for the first two goals, BRE looks like he won his place in a raffle and the rest of the team look like they're wearing lead boots, Evans in particular.

If someone told me those highlights came from a Northern League game I wouldn' be surprised. In fact I'd assume it was a relegation battle where one team had been out on the razzle the night before.

 

99% of the time though he pushes it away to safety. It wasn't an horrendous mistake as he did what keepers are taught to do and parried it wide and away from the goal.

Having said that, ROD gets slightly more leeway from me as there's more than half a team in front of him that desperately need replacing before we get anywhere near to thinking about replacing the keeper.

 

I played as right back towards the twilight years of my illustrious career (haha, joke). A few times we played as wingbacks, and my God it's hard. You've got an attacking mindset, and charge up the wing to get into space to provide crosses, and then all of a sudden, you remember that you're defending as well, and hair back down the wing in the opposite direction to counter their wingers. I was absolutely exhausted, both physically and mentally after the game. You've got two jobs to do, and very little time to settle. Definitely takes a certain type of player to do it well. Think Ashley Cole. Interestingly, a player I never really rated until yesterday, is Alex Iwobi. He had a great game yesterday for Everton playing as a wing back instead of an out an out winger/forward.
As mentioned above, I think Wood just doesn't know what he's meant to be doing. Especially as we haven't really got any central midfield to help him out. I feel sorry for the boy, as he's definitely been hung out to dry, and now is getting pelters for not doing the job he's been asked to do.

 

3-5-2 ...A reason why many teams don't play that formation.

It's a formation that invites pressure.

3 defenders at the back have to be top draw. They have to be good at understanding positional play and one of them has to good at running with the ball.

The 2 wing backs in have to be really good at crossing and get up down quickly.

2 up top need to be able to create their own chances but create space for the a midfield runner..

3-5-2 is a difficult formation to get right. We are not good enough to play 3-5-2.

 

You really are one very depressing person, give it a rest. Dont you think fans aren't down enough with the covid-19 situation and being stuck at home without having to put with you droning on continually with negative comments.

 

Don’t get me wrong, when you strip everything back I’m massively with you. I’m far from ok with where we are given where we were only 3 seasons ago. Bigger picture I’m furious with how the has digressed and what is mostly happening behind the scenes. However I try to put that aside on game day and look at the short term on what we can potentially expect. If I let everything behind the scenes of the club impact my mood and approach to every game I may as well disconnect completely.

 

Same. I was trying not to buy a match pass today because I wanted a relaxing weekend but I just can't be trusted. Here's to another stressful afternoon then.
