Not sure that's true, have you done a poll , because fans posting on social media means nothing.
Many are not happy with what has gone on at Valley Parade yes myself included but until Rupp sells I see very little chance of things changing off the field.

The club could have and should have signed players a month back... very good ones at that too. But they didn't because of rule that doesn't exist. Put today's spin there's a loophole.. well no shit .

Why should they have signed expensive players a month ago?

Richmond never did that, he always waited until at least clubs were training full time.

As fans that is always the case we see players we rate going to lesser clubs in some fans opinion, but irrelevant if the salary cap this may be the way Rupp has told Julian the club has to be run, and to be fair Rupp has backed the club financially in the past and had the one successful season during Stuart's second stint at the club as manager.

    No way.

The the FFP failures of Man City, and the corruption that is the FA in dealing with the Wigan issue, I don't trust anyone to hold any club accountable for this, and so it'll likely end up with the teams that are playing by the rules, being hurt the most because no one has the balls to punish a side in a fair manner.

From how I read the report, they did. Just the FA dragged their feet long enough, coupled with the delays with COVID, so the damning proof wasn't allowed in court.

A good piece here from the Villa CEO

    Today Programme

    BBC Radio 4

Aston Villa chief executive Christian Purslow thinks more should be done to close the financial gap between the Premier League and EFL, a situation made even more extreme by the coronavrius pandemic.

"I think the COVID-19 crisis has shone a light on the very significant differences that exists between the pinnacle of English football, the Premier League. And what goes on further down the pyramid," he told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

"These financial issues were there before the COVID-19 crisis. Nobody would have designed a system where the team finishing at the bottom of the Premier League would be earning in the hundreds of millions for television money, and the team finishing at the top of the league below would be earning less than five. That is such an enormous gap, surely there's a better way. And I think that cliff edge that has really made life very difficult between those two divisions, I think will be addressed strategically in the coming weeks and months.

"I think there just needs to be a much higher level of coordination between the management of the two leagues. The EFL, as a whole, is not properly valued by the global media industry and that's the issue that needs to be addressed.

"It's about growing the revenues in Championship football, and League One and League Two football, and I think the Premier League could be very helpful in that regard."

I'm not sure the CEO at Man Utd/City, Liverpool, Chelsea and the like would agree, but yes makes sense.

Thinking about the salary cap proposals, if they don't apply to under 21s (or 23s depending on what the final proposal looks like), when do the underage players become counted? If we take 21 as the cut-off, does someone like Watt start to count from his 21st birthday (March 2021) or is it the first full season he's overage (21/22 season)?

Could, for example, any player's contract signed before they're 21 never count towards it in which case you could give a 4 year contract to a 20 year old and not have to include them for the life of that contract, by the end of which they would be 24? If that's the case then you could give long contracts to under 21s and never have to include them in your cap. Equally, if the opposite was true, you might not want to give contracts to under 21s (using that as the cut-off point) which take them beyond their 21st birthday.

This is just one of the many, many, potential pitfalls of this absurd idea which shows that hardly any of it has been fully thought through. I'm glad we're against it but, as @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler points out in another thread, I fear the bar is now low enough amongst L1 & L2 clubs that the vote will pass. The whole thing is short-termism, despite what many of those in favour might actually believe.

Standard EFL rules will apply to age An over 24 player is defined as being "A Player aged 24 years or over as at 30 June" - same will apply to u-21 etc.

    More questions.

do all players count, or just those over 21, or over 23?
