Sick of hearing GB say after games,
"The opposition are a good team and in a false position in the league".
Sorry but, it's City that are in a false position.

It’s common sense. If you think <10,000 season tickets will be sold in a Bowyer League 2 season then you’re very deluded. Figures might drop off a tad but nothing to be of any serious concern to the club.

People are just clutching at any sort of straw to justify why Bowyer should go.

Fact is he won’t go as we’re 2 points off automatic promotion. Like it or not

With a target sales pitch of 20k, I'd suggest that this may be of concern to the club...

You're now quoting figures that weren't mentioned. You are entitled to your opinion, partly which i agree with. But its not fact, just as you have no idea fact wise whether the club would sack Bowyer at this very time. It highly unlikely but i would suggest that is more down to money constraints than anything else.

    Think you're missing the point.

Baca are top of the league and in the CL but still got rid of their manager.

Fact I said fans are not happy with Bowyer. Yes we might be 2 points off automatic but fans can see we won't go up under him.

The aim of the club is to sell 20k season tickets not 10k.. 20k so under Bowyer that isn't going to happen is it? So it would be a serious concern to the club. Rhodes didn't say 20k for the fun of it.. he said it for a reason!

My point was that there are many many other clubs who fit the bill of a one city club and who should be much higher in the football league pyramid if it was based on population. Therefore we don’t ‘deserve’ anything, that entitled viewpoint is nonsense.

Nathan Jones and Ian Evatt would be my first 2 choices.

Im not, I’m referencing my earlier point of ‘vast majority’. Over 10k is a majority.

Well the club want 20k season ticket sales. You keep forgetting that's point.

    Do you go to games?

in what relation? How much over 10,000 constitutes a 'majority'? 10,001? 12,000? The only 'fact' is here is that you have no idea what the take up on season tickets will be, the source of your opinion being based purely on how cheap the tickets are. Others, myself included, are questioning this opinion based on which division we will be in and who is in charge, effectively questioning the relationship between ticket prices and the entertainment, and division on offer next season.

It may well be that the take up is indeed similar to this season, yet the talk coming from various sources, fans at the ground, at the work place, friends and family, social media, is of discontent if the club remains in league 2 next season with many voicing their hesitancy to renew even at such a low price. A low ticket price is not the be all and end all of getting fans through the turnstiles, customers (of which we all are) have growing concerns at where the club is heading and the entertainment on show. i already know personally of at least a dozen people who don't turn up now yet have season tickets, I know others who will be going down the flexi route, effectively downgrading. Granted a lot of this short term thinking based on the turgid shite served by Bowyer, if suddenly Bowyer turned the ship around from the rocks it seems to be heading for some of these fans would change their thought process. Then again, bringing in a new manager with a more progressive outlook would also more than likely change that thought process.

As it stands my own opinion is that we are at an impasse as we currently stand. We are 'in the mix' but the real world view doesn't paint a rosy picture. If we fail to hit promotion i would expect us to lose between 1,500 to 2,000 tickets. In a pure economical sense with income being very dependant on shifting large numbers i'd say that would be a huge blow, one that could see us anchored in league 2 for the foreseeable future. Over to Bowyer to pull his finger out of his arse.

I think that's the last thing you could claim yesterdays performance was, or the week before at Crawley the longer the game went on the more likley that Scunthorpe would find a winner IMO.

Keep the faith mate (finances allowing) most have been through your present situation ;).

We look like we'd finish 11th at the moment at best with probably the biggest budget.

For reference regarding our team strength, Plymouth went to Scunthorpe and beat that team 3-1...

Very, very much so. The evidence of the last few seasons very much backs this up.

Your last paragraph hits the nail on the head. I too know many season ticket holders who rarely attend now and there must be a real risk that the income from that source will be considerably reduced if things stay the way they are going. Any cost involved in sacking Bowyer must be balanced against the risk involved in keeping him and not getting promotion.

Bowyer needs to go, especially if we lose on Tuesday.

His football breeds no accountability and the players can't wait to get it out of their feet, apart from Mellor who tries but consistently fails - and McCartan/Doyle who haven't played enough under Bowyer yet to learn to go backwards.

They're too scared to even tackle...

I hope its a point the relevant powers that be will be addressing in the next few weeks. At the moment it has that sinking ship feeling and fans have lost confidence in Bowyer despite the league position. Two big away games coming up and our away from is pretty miserable. A low or nothing points return from these games and i'd expect Bowyers employment to be under discussion. People like stability but sometimes you have to admit the ship is heading nowhere.

Had a look at managers out of work and theres not loads that realistically stand out.
    Nathan Jones
    Brian McDermott
    Nigel Adkins
    Martin O'Neill
    Paul Tisdale
    Kevin Nolan

I want Bowyer out but theres not a lot of great options.

Personally I can’t see 20k season ticket holders regardless of cost and division. We didn’t get that kind of crowd even in
    Premier.

So here we have a thread that started on the 24th August 2019. Six months later and 81 pages later we are 5th in the league and 2 points of the autos. I've said it before and I'll say it again. We have the most embarrassing set of fans in the country. We are fickle and self obsessed. Talking about formations every other week like you know what your actually talking about. Saying Drury should be sacked yet you have no idea what his actual role at the club is.
Have you all forgotten how bad we were last season? We were rotten. Relegated without a whimper. It's not a given that you just go straight back up. It doesn't happen. If you understood football then you'd understand.
Look at Sunderland, Stoke, WBA, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Huddersfield, Scunthorpe etc. This isn't fifa. You don't just walk the league after getting relegated.
Gary had to come and steady the ship. So far he's doing OK. Yes the football isn't great at the moment but the state of the club when we took over was the worst I can ever remember. Most of you were even talking about double relegation.
Imagine having a thread calling for the manager to be sacked that has been on going for nearly 6 months and with a poll. Seriously? Why would any other manager want to work who's fans behave like that?
We've had terrible injuries and a lot of new players to try and gel together. Managers need to time to implement their ideas. Someone of you need to find some patience.
