I like Bowyer but his football is boring and predictable

 

Maybe if fellow posters didn't take his bait he'd go away, he seems to take great satisfaction from getting a rise from City fans, I wont say fellow city fans as I'm not sure he is .

 

Tbf it’s league 2 I can’t remember the last time we were at this level and played entertaining football, that said he might be the same in league 1 as well I don’t know. Our attack does need more structure to it that’s for sure, but it could be a case of our midfield aren’t good enough to create anything, we were doing well second half until Devine came on for Akpan it was a bad sub which totally took the game away from us.

 

Why on earth didn't he bring Reeves on? or is he on the bench as token gesture of what lovely caring club we are? We are still well in the mix but Bowyer is worrying getting a bit of reputation of negative subs and boring football. Vaughan looks like he's having the life sucked out of him with the role he's being asked to play.

 

6 points from 15 since Donaldson got injured. Therein lies the problem. Donaldson is just better than Vaughan at coming short.

With Donaldsons injury supposedly being to the new year, I feel this thread maybe will be getting more use.

 

A good manager would play to the strengths of the players he has available. You don't lose donaldson and then implement a gameplan as if he was still there which then makes your other striker useless.

 

A tad sexist that m8. You need to be more inclusive.

 

This may be true but is GB a good manager, whom will play to the strengths of his team. I commented after the Shrewsbury game about the game plan and I saw little to encourage today.

A winter of discontent?

 

I think it's more a case of teams have found us out and we have no answer.

 

Lose one game and the manager wants sacking some fans need to give there head a shake anybody would think we were in the bottom two

 

Agree before today we had won 4 from 5 league games the one we lost was against Port Vale enough said, poor result today because once again an average at best team took all three points, but just look through the prediction league results not many put us down for getting a result.

Bradford City manager Gary Bowyer says he is concerned for the wellbeing of Chris Taylor after the Bantams cancelled the midfielders contract because of a registration issue.

An appearance for Barrow as a trialist meant the 32-year-old's eligibility for the Bantams could not be guaranteed.

"Here is a player out of work," Bowyer said. "Welfare is my main concern.

"So much is made of mental health and when it cries out for something, we seem to have penalised the poor boy."

Talking to BBC Radio Leeds, Bowyer said he has been in contact with National League clubs to explain the situation in an effort to help the midfielder find a club.

"I still feel he has a hell of a lot to give, otherwise I wouldn't have signed him," said Bowyer, who previously managed Taylor at Blackpool and Blackburn.

The 48-year-old said both the Football Association and English Football League need to "learn lessons" from the way Taylor situation was handled.

"It is one for the FA and the EFL to certainly look at and review and in my personal opinion have a better process in place," Bowyer said.

"The amount of time that it took to get this decision was not of a professional standard.

"If I go and play for my mate's team on Sunday morning and if I don't sign a form and the team sheet is put in, it gets flagged up straight away. Why hasn't this been flagged up straight away then if he hadn't signed a form or wasn't registered? I don't know?"

 

Agree. Bowyer isn’t faultless but the whole knee jerk of every time we lose that we need to sack the manager is pathetic. This thread began on 24/8. Nowt like a bit of patience to build something. Anyone would think we’ve limitless pots of cash. We have to operate within our means and won’t get it right every time.

To have no forwards on the bench is embarrassing to the football club.
