I suspect Bowyer genuinely thinks he’s doing a good job.

 

But to be balanced, he did hammer the players as much as I've heard a manager do. He more or less said they'd bottled it.

 

Think its down to the mantra of having one left footed and one right, which is bollocks at our level.
Centre back's in the 4th division, see ball head ball, see ball kick ball.
Didn't see an issue with the Davies/McCardle combo whom were both right footed & the best we've had together in a decade

 

I agree I’ve said myself this lot are overrated by some of our fans. I can’t see us going up now tbh sacking or otherwise.

I’ve turned to the Bowyer out side for the simple fact it’s clear they aren’t playing for him anymore. We need a long term plan which involves more exciting football, but this coaching set up and a lot of these players can’t be part of it.

 

Well most City fans l work with think the same and today is not going to change their opinions.

 

I wouldn't go that far. He wants every manager sacking after a few games. He will be calling for the head of the next one within five games. Including the chairman,coach, owner, CEO and newspaper reporter.

I cannot see how the hell SR et al can sit back and allow the club to continue to be outclassed in , what many pundits have said, is the shittest League 2 for many a year.

I cant recall the last time we actually looked good on the pitch. Apart from 3 mins V Scunny we have been at best mediocre and often below average.

No identity, no patterns of play, no movement, no obvious clue, no idea whats going on. That's what our "talented" management team has led us to today.

That has feck all to do with the lack of enough transfer windows. That's down to the management teams methods and abilities.

If GB loves this club like he says he does he should resign and let someone else who can get a tune out of this team, come in and get the club back on some sort of promotion track.

And Drury has to follow.

 

Yes, look at those strikers but they need to get the opportunities. In the last 7 games we have had a total of 51 shots, an average of 7 per game with only 12 on target, an average of 1.7 per game. 5 of these games have been against teams in the lower half of the table and 3 in the real nether regions of the league!!

In comparison Swindon have had a total of 81 shots (30 more than us in 7 games), an average of 11.5 per game with 32 on target (20 more than us), an average of 4.5 per game.

If you don't shoot you don't score and that then exposes any defensive frailties.

It doesn't seem to matter whatever strikeforce we play, whatever personnel we play, whatever formation we play, we just can't seem to hit upon an 'attractive' offensive winning formula. The early results actually masked the quality of the performances.

I think I can count on one hand the number of decent performances (and these certainly were only for 45 minutes not an entire game) - Crewe, Exeter, Swindon, Salford. In other games we have looked pretty much second best.

Didn't go today but have tickets for Oldham. My youngest (who is 12) has literally thrown his shirts and his Wembley flag down the stairs and said you can burn them if you want Dad!! Now that is saying something!!

He's certainly lost many of the clubs fan base, it was getting ugly at times today, glad we were at the other end to the more vocal fans.

 

It would be difficult to make an arguement against that comment.

Overhauling the coaching set up and Bowyer bringing his own people in might save him but I think Drury is bombproof for some reason
