S O C ........ MY contribution ....

Well Dave that's pretty much it, a strategically placed billboard will remind Edin (and others) every day, it's very effective and comparatively cheap.

The fly by leaves me cold, seen loads, what did they achieve? Not sure there isn't a bit of "look at me" in the whole plan too, wowee an aeroplane! It's just preaching to the converted flying over VP, we want him out & he knows, so what's the point? He'll be glad when it's gone but the billboard will be there the day after.

 

I tried to get some sort of costing for billboards but found it difficult, it would be great for some of the lads who post on both forums to keep us up to speed on their efforts, @Rogered Tart, @NorthernMonkey, @Ricc. @The Granby Mullet any updates you can share ?.

 

Well, tbh how much does it cost to have posters made up and some paste? FA.

Not that I am advocating raising £100 for a 1000 posters hosted all over Bradford.............

 

Just watched the Quest EFL show recorded from last night (yes glutton for punishment I know) and after our highlights they highlighted our situation and the most number of defeats at start of a season in our 115 year history and how fans were voting with their feet...it's not the first time this season either. So national awareness is being raised.

 

Nowt new from me mate, i admire the tenacity of the protest but a banner carrying plane? Come on, i’d rather them give the money to charity than spunk on some cessna towing a daft banner.

 

I am not denying awareness is being raised or might even be raised much further. What I am saying is, there is no tangible benefit to us, the fans, if it is.

I am thinking clicks + likes = no money.

I am thinking that we would be better off just fly posting, it's easy, costs peanuts, could have "Edin Out" all over Bradford in a week, we don't have to ask permission, don't have to spunk £850 on a moment of "look what we've done".............kids today.

 

No idea, haven’t taken much notice of it.

 

Just get some one to spray the message on the cladding at the back of the stand, be nice to see something other than boring grey steel sheeting. We don’t have the money to get it removed, could get to watch edin at work with a brush and some paint remover.

 

Get it organised then....but as I said on another thread, think once the SOC lads get set up then we need to take ideas from people and have a coordinated campaign and coordinated effort. Start with a fly by, then a billboard campaign, send articles to national press, flypost across the city, boycott games, have a designated walk out at certain times, hand out flyers before games, don't buy merchandise, season tickets etc etc. There is loads that can be done but it needs to start somewhere and Jon was asked to back up his talk and he has done that in fairness to him. But we must coordinate and have a planned campaign in my view.

Agree with all that and if people want to chip in then I'll have a 1000 posters printed no problem. What they do with them is not my problem.

I'll support the SOC too but I really do think the plane thing needs to be thought through a bit more, £850 for what potential results exactly? £850 could go a long way on other stuff.

That's fair enough. Like I said if we support the lads getting SOC up and running we can then come together and agree a whole host of ways of protesting in cheaper ways....crisps at Charlton or the pigs they did...Jon and the other lads are trying to start something.

 

We've not progressed with it yet and I can't see it going ahead anyway. I'm yet to see a billboard in Bradford targeted towards a specific individual. Doubt it'll get the thumbs up but we'll have to wait and see.
