I don’t think the Wisdom case is former player love in. It’s more as a former youth player he might be more willing to come on a short term deal for lower money-like butterfield’s loan

You have to think that Salford , Stockport and Wrexham if they come up, all with owners with very big wallets and then maybe a couple of the relegated teams, would have greater spending power than city. I think after the last few season's of very poor decision's and very bad management, although most including myself thought Adams might finally do a job, Mr sparks needs to let the guys now in charge of the football side have every penny he can and use Mark Hughes as a pulling point.

The whole football club needs to be firing on all cylinders, and there are good reasons to doubt that's the case - be that right now, or in the coming season.
The idea a Premier League manager can come to this club, operate in circumstances that have badly failed every decent manager that's come before (let's face it, we haven't been CLOSE to promotion from this division), and expect them to turn it round DOES sound like a fantasy.
The club is weak in areas. We shouldn't underestimate that now because Hughes is in charge.
The ideal would be an interested, exuberant owner with talent.
An interested, high-performing CEO with talent.
A manager with experience, knowledge, and talent.
A coaching staff with experience, knowledge, and talent.
What we know for sure is we have the latter two in place; what we don't know is that their skills will translate well to a full season with transfer windows. We know Hughes can coach a crap side, because we've seen him do it, so we can probably assume he can coach his OWN side that he's assembled.
But we're miles off being able to compete with other teams in terms of the owner or the CEO, and that for me is a massive worry.bantam2708, WilsdenBantam, Rogered Tart and 1 other person like this. -
It was a very professional piece of marketing by the whole team led by Ryan. That video was one of the best I have seen. Getting that stadium full is a challenge at this level, but they have done it on several occasions £5 a ticket is a great promotion, plus the sales of merchandise, food and drink must have gone through the roof. If they get an increase in ST sales as well, it will be a total success.

That said, most will also judge him on his commercial and marketing achievements and I think he is doing a very good job on that scoteMorley Bantam, Bronco, Inspector and 1 other person like this. -

I can understand supporters frustrations in the club in certain topics, certainly based on the clubs sad journey in the last 10 years ago. However it’s hard to deny there has been quite some off-field progression since Sparks has come in.
I can’t speak for recent match day experience, in my time still living in the UK +5 years ago it was miserable. However the fact there’s already investment and improvement highlights one area of progression.
Ultimately it’s on the field which matters - but the commercial side can only be deemed profession and success from what I see so far from Sparks.
Decent quick podcast ahead of the season.

Yes we finished higher up the league but the history books will still say season 23/24 we were a L2 club
Finishing in a failed play off place means absolutely nothing look at Stevenage last season and the season before
Until we get promoted our club is unquestionably failing on the pitch regardless of our off pitch activities
I've been giving it the "we will get promoted next season" well over 50 years now it seldom happens
This season am struggling to muster much enthusiasm although like you I will be there more in hope than expectation
The first few games are vital, a bad start will turn the VP atmosphere toxic regardless of the number of names/sponsors on the shirt
Success or failure first and foremost happens on the pitch
We will soon know if MH has "Seen the light"
Enjoy the season everyone!!!!Fordy117, Ponty City, Onside and 1 other person like this. -
