Good post @TallinnBantam@TallinnBantam and mostly agreed. Regarding Abbott, he mentioned when they announced the news of his illness that they have already drawn up a list of potential players. Grayson will want his input as well and hopefully it is him in control of recruitment rather than Rahic but both will be involved. On the youth team coaching, not sure if you missed this news.

But I think you are right about the shifting of budgets around and we'll have a good indication on where we are if Grayson signs his extension.

I’ll try and throw a bit of positivity into the mix. Now some may not agree however we’ve had three players out injured for a large part of this season that could make all the difference next season. Mr’s McGowan, Reeves & Jones. McGowan looks like the leader we’ve missed since Gary Jones left. In the few games he played he was different gravy. First half of the season before he was injured Reeves ran our midfield and was excellent. If memory serves he won umpteen MOTM awards. And finally Jones. If this lad gets himself fit and starts playing how we’ve seen in flashes then we could have a very good striker on our hands. He was starting to forge a very good partnership with Wyke before one of his earlier injuries.

Now I know it’s all if’s and but’s however that’s all we’ve got to go on at the moment. Should Doyle sign a new deal then combined with the above mentioned players coming back fit you’ve got the makings of a solid spine through the team. Now not including new signings and provided everyone is fit and firing I quite like the look of this basic lineup :-

    Doyle
    Chicksen
    Killa
    McGowan
    TMac

    Robinson
    Reeves
    Dieng
    Gibson

    Wyke
    Jones

So no loan players included just our own contracted players. Call me optimistic however this side all fit and playing well would be a match for any in league one. As I said earlier chaps I’m just trying to be optimistic as Christ knows what is going to happen this summer.

What were the targets the last owners set that weren't achieved, under Parky 5 years of progress promotion and two Wembley apperances with little money from their own pickets (not including Marks loan) I believe they allowed Parky the money generated from season ticket sales the rest Parky had to generate from our Cup exploits.

We sign lower division players hoping they will come good and even the coaching staff are lower division former players who have achieved nothing,
Why can we not get coaches that have played at championship level or above or had success with other clubs who know what it takes to play at a higher level, Seems we have low expectations for coaching the youth and kids who to progress as the club wants need the best coaches we can attract

I would like the club to try and get into a decent reserve league so that fringe players can get competitive games. It’s a big ask of players to finally get a chance of a first team spot after weeks with no football

On the subject of coaches, I hope we hire someone to work with the attacking players next season. We have a keeper coach and I remember Steve Parkin used to do a lot of work with the back 4 so why not try and improve an area which we've struggled in for years.

Well in their last season we were in the play offs who knows what we could have achieved if we had stayed under Mark & Julians ownership, I wouldn't have bet against Parky going one step further last season we'll never know.
But what we do know is under the present owners we have regrest, not merely the footballing side of the club but in trust of the owners, fans voting with their feet and not renewing, this comment from one of our fellow poster says it all to me :

My first post regarding the treatment of two City legends. And then some hollow words from a chairperson that seems can't be bothered to show his support when it mattered. The whole episode that is the running of our club is broken. From sackings of the DJ that showed a bit of humour to Mr Mason been told to keep of social media and not use his name to represent the club.

Bantams family was once a meaning! a strength that drew its support from generations of fans and local business support that stood loyal. Today its a name only.

Would be cool, and perhaps groundbreaking, if we could enter reserve/development teams into some lower league competiton in Germany. Forge our connections with our owners country a bit, and also get our fringe players playing competitive football.
Failing that, why not do the "parent club" thing, that worked so well for the Prem clubs (united sent a lot of players out to Belgium). Time for Rupp and Edin to put all this "racist hate" to bed, and do something positive with our European neighbours in the way of football :)

I agree with you, it would be nice to see a stronger connection like that.

Overall I am happy with the article, I think it's good that they've admitted that this season wasn't on par with what we were all expecting. I'm always happy to see development in the youth system, as the youngsters are the future after all!!

Going forward I would love to see some friendlies against some German teams at Valley Parade and/or us over there in Germany during pre season, would be good for the club overall I think.

    ROLL ON NEXT SEASON, AS YOU ALL KNOW I RECKON WE WILL SMASH IT!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

    COME ON CITY!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

From the Fans’ Forum held in February.

"What mistakes have you made as chairman - and what have you learnt from them?"

Response from Edin. “We should communicate much more often and direct with the fans. We are in a foreign country and have to accept people have the right to abuse you however they want. They can have video clips with Hitler and my name on it and abuse my son. That was totally over the boundaries”.

“I think Stuart has also learned he will do some things different with another chairman. But I have also made mistakes, that's for sure."

Looks like these guys have a habit for admitting mistakes but not so easy getting further information than that. Even on that night, Rahic admitted mistakes had been made, but then deflected from these by adding Stuart had also made mistakes and again mentioning the abuse he received.

Which is rather ironic that they told the Supporters Trust they would not honor the previous boards recognition of the Supporters Trust, even though they pointed out it was what was required by the FL ?.
