Well it does seem that they are maybe prepared for a longer run.

No sign of additional funding to strengthen the squad.

“We don’t want to get any debts and overstretch, we can only spend what we earn.”

Hopefully the vast majority of what we earn will be on the first team if that’s the case ...

Correct soundbyte, but obviously (and understandably) a bit vague.

    What lessons have they learned?

They still see youth as the way forward and want to spend what they earn - whilst this is admirable, what do they plan to do differently if they have learned their lesson?

Need a bit more clarity or quick actions if they are trying to re-engage wth supporters.

Never felt funding was the issue.

A coherent transfer policy, that allows for a squad with depth in ALL areas, not just some. That's what we need.

Surely a change in the wage structure will attract better players. This season the team has failed, therefore the club saved money. This type of success based pay is admirable, but prone to fallouts if success doesn’t happen on the pitch. Pay the going rate to attract the better players.

Talk is cheap. We'll see if they have learnt anything this summer, where they will simply have to get it right

Yeah. I see where you're coming from. I just think the quality is sort of there, but the squad balance is all over the place.

Whatever we sell Wyke for probably won't be enough to sign another striker to replace him with never mind spending it on the rest of the team.

It's not clear to me what lesson they have learned. What do they plan to do differently now? I can only think it is in regard to managing fans expectations rather than anything concerning the way football is going to be managed.
Where does this leave Grayson now that Rupp has stated they will only be spending what they earn? i.e. a further reduced budget. Is there any point them continuing to talk about a new contract for him, if they are not prepared to subsidies the budget?

Surely we will get enough to go back in for the lad at Chesterfield. Maybe that's a "lesson" that has been learned.

I wouldn't be happy replacing Wyke with a much smaller striker, considering the way Grayson plays. Surely Dennis replaces Poleon, McCartan and Patrick, who can all go for me.

Wyke goes, we need a goalscoring target man, and they don't exist.

There are plenty of decent strikers available on free transfers, if you’re willing to pay the salary required to get them

We have learned lesson quotes Rupp well Proof is in the pudding and I don' dispute buying young talent to sell on isn't a good idea but unless you are successful on the pitch it counts for nothing.

We could sell wyke for a million or maybe more in the summer but unless we sign proven players with the money we won'
    Progress.

Whatever happens it's going to a interesting summer and I for one I hope I am eating humble pie come next season but it needs to change over the next few months big time.
