Can't defend a performance like this. Optimism is draining away rapidly for me. These players were scouted and studied in depth by Hughes and his recruitment team, but our performances are no where near to expectation.Where is the quality running through the squad he talks of..the odd cameo is not enough.We need consistancy from players and Management alike of a much higher standard than has been evidenced so far.I just don't see progress in the way we apply ourselves game to game and it is showing in the way we never seem to learn from our mistakes.

 

Other teams won't need to bring a goalkeeper, as they don't get used !!!!

 

As soon as we started the pedestrian/walking foot ball I just knew we would not win this. Harrogate did the right thing and wizzed through us.

This will not do, we have to make progress otherwise we will go backwards which is what is happening.

Didn’t go just listened on the radio. TBH we have good players, but the way they are being asked to play is not working. Why Gilliard before East? Why is Banks not on from the start. Why can’t we just try 442? We need midfielders to be up with play so they can pass it to the wingers. I am so frustrated, a good cup run would have lifted the spirits.

Sparks (is he still there) needs a performance review with Hughes to see what is going on. Out of the cup, plummeting in the league and walk ups for home games about to drop off a cliff. Simply not good enough. Sparkie needs to change formation.

 

We're just too laborious and hesitant in possession- Platt and Critchlow being the two biggest culprits. Neither release the ball anywhere near quick enough and it always allows the opposition to get everyone behind the ball and in shape.

Centre of midfield is also a problem. Gilliead and Smallwood don't work as neither is capable of passing the ball forwards. East needs to start at Mansfield.

And on the topic of Smallwood, get him as far away from free kicks and corners as possible. Horse shit every single one of them.

 

The home form will ultimately be Hughes downfall.
Only the fantastic away record this season is keeping him in a job currently

 

So wonder what little gem our manager will come out with today ???
I thought the first half was bad but to not even come out FLYING at the start of the 2nd half was even worse

How on earth Hughes cannot see that Smallwood's set pieces are shocking every week is completely baffling. I can only assume every other player is worse at them in training. Didn't Banks come with a reputation of being a set piece specialist?

 

he needs to realise that the way we play away from home simply doesn’t work at home ............ 2 goals in our last 4 home games proves that

 

I cannot recall a player who continues to cross the ball straight out of play ........... as for him being motm wow indeed

 

Hughes may glitter, but he is certainly not gold. He is not even a polished turd.
Adams would have been flogged out of town for performances like this. Stockport , Swindon, Crawley and Harrogate at home.
No wins and did not look like winning any of them. One man up front at home, is terrible and today in the FA cup , just bloody go for it, it was a free hit.

That was bad today. Real bad. A limited side again outplays us and outpasses a side apparently built on trying to outpass the opposition. I've been a big backer of Hughes but it seems the obvious problems either don't register with him or he simply refuses to change. East and Banks make an immediate impact but that change should have been at half time.
Hughes and Smallwood both need to up their game l.

 

4 subs used at 1 0 down and we end up with Alex Gillead (who averages 1 assist a season) in the attacking midfield role.

Doesn't matter what subs do they won't start next game.

He's got a starting 11 everyone knows including opposition managers setting there teams up.

Scout report on us play 1 upfront, play 300 passes a game at the back allowing everyone to get back. Slowest centre midfield pair in division who do nothing going forward. Don't worry about giving away freekicks as smallwood will give us it back by smashing every delivery out of play.

 

Let's hope it doesn't mate or that would suggests we won't be up there amongst the play off teams, I couldn't get there today but it sounded dire on the radio Morias saying Harrogate didn't even play the high line against us, if they didn't and allowed us room to come forward it doesn't look too good going forward.

Today’s performance shocking Hughes needs improvement he needs to sort them out . No shot on target disgrace Wrights header should have been in the back of the net.

It’s ok sticking to your guns but ffs we are to predictable not one of us on here has managed at a professional level of football but I can guarantee we could all pick a system to suss us out ................. it’s fooking slow it’s boring he’s been possibly been getting away with results down to the keeper and defence in all honesty I would even say our posistion is false .............. out of all games this season how many have we actually dominated ?????? Amazed if it’s anything over 3 ................. in actually confident we won’t concede many goals but that counts for nothing if we ain’t scoring

Honestly I thought we would be out of this league come the end of the season but to me it’s another false dawn ............ it’s really no better than Bowyer and Adams it really isn’t
