It’s absolutely criminal not to at least try set your team up to entertain the home crowd.
We had 0 shots on target today against a very poor team and that’s not acceptable.
Winning away games in front of 600 people is all well and good but when the home fans turn on you your days are numbered as a manager.JudgeMental and Bantam-in-Greece like this. -
That was as bad as anything I’ve seen in a while. With less quality last season, we got at teams and created chances. Why oh why is it left to Platt to try and play 40 yard passes? I don’t entirely blame him because Smallwood and Gilliead should be the ones dictating play. I thought we’d upgraded on Watt with Smallwood but I think we’ve actually gone backwards in midfield.
If Hughes doesn’t make changes for Tuesday then something is serious wrong. Pierera, Wright, Chapman, Gilliead need dropping. Wasted opportunity today in my eyes…Manningham bantam and Bantam-in-Greece like this. -

He seems baffled so here is 2 reasons the team is not performing.
1 The formation is easy to play against and does not suit the players.
2 The combination of Smallwood and Gillieard does not work and we lose emphasis and give the ball away to much and dreadful passing which the opposition take advantage of.
Until we change att least one of these we will struggle. -

At last I am realising why MH has been out of the game for so long.

Maybe a tad over reaction but listening to MH's post match comments it seems like he is unable to motivate the team to up its game during the match.
No massive half time bollocking by the sounds of it and by all accounts the second half was worse than the first.
Maybe time to switch the team up a bit and drop those who think they are undroppable to give them a wake up call. Thinking Smallwood for starters-has been well off it in recent games.

I’ve got no problem playing out from the back, IF we had forwards who make runs and we turn from slow passing, to quick breaking in an instant. Sadly, everyone is just pedestrian, waiting for the ball to feet. I get how MH wants to play, but we don’t have the players to do it.

What they don't debate is Gillead getting away with it and effectively hiding because he doesn't even try a difficult pass or cross a ball.
We're carrying him as a team and it's been evident in most games this year that the midfield "triangle" isn't as effective as a unit as it should be -

This isn't really about defending Smallwood though because I do agree that he's been below par but more about how absurdly non existent Alex Gillead is as a footballer.
If there is anyone, and I mean ANYONE who can tell me what he actually contributes (other than the fictitious "unseen work") then I'm all ears.
The truth is that he came as a winger and didn't contribute so we moved him inside, where he doesn't contribute and now plays in a deeper midfield role where is very difficult to again see what he contributes.
There's definitely a common denominator there and it's a complete lack of ability and/or bravery. -
