Returning to the OP's original question, what decisions is Rhodes expected to make?

Sacking Bowyer? Hardly unless that's what Rupp wants and there is a replacement lined up

Spending a load of cash to recruit additional players in the transfer window? Hardly unless Rupp slackens the purse strings

Exercising the recall option on Doyle? Possibly but that would itself depend on two things. Firstly whether Doyle returning is affordable without Rupp slackening the purce strings. And secondly, whether Bowyer wants somebody in the squad who doesn't really want to be here. Unless of course it's simply a spoiling tactic.

Let's not forget that Rhodes is a hired hand albeit in a very senior role but with no skin in the game. The controller of the purse strings resides in Germany and it will be Rupp who makes any decision whether his money (not JR's) is placed at risk.

But who would you have replace GB? Maybe sacking is on the agenda, but there's no one available/interested? For sure, Bradford must have a bit of a reputation among managers as a sacking club, and one that is run a bit shambolically - Edin, Rupp, the Doyle scenario. If as mentioned, we're broke, then I also think that paying of GB and bringing a manager in on potentially higher wages might be a bit offputting too.
Lets say for example we want to appoint a no nonsense manager with a proven record, then it's that sort of manager who is going to cost a bit. I can't see us being able to afford Warnocks salary :)

Despite all this, I think the very least Rhodes AND RUPP should do, is have a word with Bowyer and explain to him that his management is making the fans twitchy, which in turn could have an adverse effect on season ticket sales, and ultimately the business which is Bradford City.

Totally agree. Unfortunately, such is Rupps lack of any authority/voice/interest, that most of us are expecting JR to make the decisions he should be making. I'd fully expect something from Rupp, a few words about 2019 and prognosis for 2020 on the match day programme, or club website, but I'm not holding my breath. It's crazy that we've gone from one chairman who was a total dictator, to now having one that seems to have abdicated himself from the club completely.

I agree about Rupp's apparent disinterest in the club despite shelling out €6mill of his own money to buy it! But I doubt he would be giving JR carte blanche to make any decision involving the club spending more of the club's, sorry Rupp's money, without him agreeing to it. And I'm struggling to think of many decisions at this stage of the season where the amount of money available wouldn't be a consideration.

Hauled back and he's training with the youngsters as GB proves he is the boss and all this attacking malarkey won't get us promoted so long as we don't conceed we will be promoted
Doyle has pulled on the Claret and Amber for the last time
    Whether he returns or stays

After Carlisle anything less than 6 points out of the next 2 home games and the fans will be more than twitchy

Said it before we lack footballing people at the club. If Rhodes and Rupp have a word with Bowyer then Bowyer would be like what do you two know.

As for who replaces him? Plenty of managers out there mate but boring football, making hard work of a poor league needs to change or the effect it will have on the club is massive in a bad way.

'Id think Julian and Stefan have a video link/conversation once a week at least with regards the running of the club and will have spoken about the Doyle situation, as someone posted there is a period where we have to make our decision to recall him or make other financial demands should Swindon want to keep him.
I would think both clubs have spoken about the different scenarios on offer.

Same could be said of Bowyer who was out of work for over 6 months before coming here.

The club is skint according to you, now you want Stefan to possibly pay compensation, that makes loads of sense.

Yes very few are in jobs that's the nature of club management, unless as Fordy is suggesting we go for a manager in work, that usually costs the club wanting the said manager and far from guarantees success.

No manager guarantees success Bronco, and this is the issue I have with fans wanting rid of Bowyer, who is doing a decent job, and has us handily placed for promotion, just doesn't make sense to me to go through all that upheaval again

It's frustration with many fans replies and is understandable after some of our recent dire performances, I'm far from happy with those performances but even with those we are 5th with a game in hand, given that as an option before a ball was kicked most honest fans would have snapped your hand of.

How can some not consider Rhodes to be a 'footballing man'?

Julian has been involved for a very long time, and I guarantee if we instated an unknown fella with a similar length of service somewhere else there would be no questioning his credentials.

Seems a bit bizarre to me.
